Posting from my phone as I'm technically on holiday atm, but I was talking with my aunt who has a young male staying with them on a long term basis and they were asking me if there is any software for phones that is a web filter/content management that obviously can't be tampered with by said child. They need to be able to check all messages sent/received, obviously limit what he can access on the internet, lock down camera possibly, access to images sent to him etc...it's rather a big ask I know, but I bought if anyone could help it's the mangos!

Any ideas would be epic, I've recommended sophos Home AV for his laptop as that has web filtering as well in the home dashboard and is free and remotely managed etc..?

Cheers for all your help guys 🙂

@Minion-Queen we're UK based, and not heard of anything like that here, but will suggest it!

Atm he only has a basic phone that texts, no camera, no internet capabilities...but he obv wants more to play games etc. Like his friends do...but they still need to monitor him due to circumstances/history

I would call the carrier and see what they suggest. I know that iPhones do have the ability to be locked down by a parent a bit.... but via the carrier would probably be best.

Will recommend that to them, but guess that's only the internet side of things..? Anything to do with checking/monitoring messages etc?

A router or a proxy will do the job here. You need to gate the firewall here.

It works anytime that you can control it. WHen you can't control it, you can't control it.

Nahh I know what you mean, and yeah for sure, but the internet is more when he's out and about on data, rather than at home, so on data he won't go through the home fw etc 🙂

That's like trying to control what billboards he will look at. Can't do it.

Fair enough, think I'll see what various carriers say/can do like Minion Queen suggested and take it from there! Cheers guys 🙂

That's about the only option because they are the only ones that can have a universal firewall/proxy for that situation.

There are plenty of paid MDM solutions out there that will handle this.
