There is so much that we don't know and these discoveries just remind me of how much there is still to discover. Even in the areas decreed as uninhabitable, ther is something making the most of the environment that it lives in.
Kind of demonstrates how little school education matters. No one ever comes out understanding science, knowing any history or being able to speak or write well. So where is the value? We teach a bunch of broadly useless information incorrectly and then find out that while we did damage to the students, it didn't matter since they didn't need any knowledge anyway.
Better than nothing. Otherwise that sunlight is all wasted.
Better than nothing is a silly statement. If the cost to install is so hi that it never creates a positive return it is a waste of money. There is a reason that cold fusion is not in use. It is not that we cannot do it. It is that it is too expensive to do it.
At that point you are better served to just get normal windows and save that extra money for some other more cost efficient means of capturing solar power.
I dearly do hope that this technology becomes feasible though, the potential is huge.
