Any Free non Outlook Exchange Clients?

Calendaring is pretty much useless in a collaborative environment, though. That's my biggest gripe with the web interface. If they could get that turned around, I would use that instead in a heartbeat. Also, if you're trying to work with rules and other customizations in the Inbox, OWA doesn't handle that very well.

@Rob-Dunn maybe my rules are just really basic or something, but they seem to work better in OWA than in Outlook, or at least on parity.

I'm really trying to figure out what you all hate about Outlook so much, or OWA for that matter?
Prehaps I'm entirely to simple of a user to see the differences.

Slow, complicated, buggy. Has nothing to do with being a power user. I'm a pretty simple user but neither Outlook nor OWA has been on par with other web interfaces that I have used in a decade.

Outlook is slow, failure prone, and just all around a bad UX. Granted I like the 2013 version more then the previous ones but still...

I dunno - the only issues I've ever had with Outlook has been bad or misconfigured plugins, and even that doesn't happen very often. I've had nothing but good experiences with it as an app. As far as how chatty Outlook/Exchange is, that's a different story, but nevertheless, I've hardly had any issues with it myself, or with any of my clients/co-workers.
If Exchange works, Outlook always seems to work IME.

By the way, that eM client is actually pretty nice! I just installed it on my home PC (IMAP access) for Google and Outlook.com addresses. It picked up all my Thunderbird configurations, calendars, address books, etc. with hardly any work.

I actually like 2010 more than 2013 BUT I understand what they were doing with 2013 and appreciate the direction that they are going and think that it makes sense.

I've used everything from Pine (yes, the one over SSH) to Thunderbird, Windows LIve Mail (/cry), Outlook Express (/weep openly), to Outlook (/sigh ...still waiting for email to send)... Even the Linux Email client that had exchange connectivity (I haven't used it in eons, and can't remember the name of it)....
I generally prefer webmail... but sine Outlook 2010 (am on 2013 now), I have actually ejoyed Outlook... I don't use it for anything but email and calendar (calendar sharing does work if you know where to click). It is usually relatively snappy while working without O365 environment here... I don't really like the Outlook.com web interface too much. I'll use it if I'm not at my desk...
All of the above is for Exchange... If I'm just doing straight Pop or IMAP,
Thunderbird! ... and sadly, I am GMail junkie... -
I look Outlook 2010/2013 very little problems with that. Outside of that Zimbra Desktop is the one I like, it's webmail running in an application basically so it's no ideal but it's way better than thuderbird which I can't stand.

Actually, I should correct myself, I mean 'views' more than rules...I do some stuff with font styles, organization, etc. with the views...something that is not really workable in OWA.

I always do as much of the rules I can in OWA as they are processed server side. Outlook does some of both.

I was on Pine too! Those were the days. I, too, generally prefer web mail these days (and for the past decade.)

That makes more sense. No views for me. I have lots of server side rules and they, well, rule!
