Presidential debate: Trump and Biden trade insults in chaotic debate
President Donald Trump and his challenger Joe Biden have fiercely clashed in one of the most chaotic and bitter White House debates in years.
Mr Trump frequently interrupted, prompting Mr Biden to tell him to "shut up" as the two fought over the pandemic, healthcare and the economy. The US president was challenged over white supremacist support and refused to condemn a specific far-right group. Opinion polls suggest Mr Biden has a steady single-digit lead over Mr Trump. But with 35 days until election day, surveys from several important states show a closer contest. Polls also suggest one in 10 Americans have yet to make up their mind how to vote. But analysts said Tuesday night's debate - the first of three - probably would not make much difference.Close polling doesn't sound good for the Biden camp. Remember what the polling looked like in 2016? And then remember how that turned out.
I can't remember reading that the polling companies have changed the way they do their polling. If they haven't, they're likely going to be wrong. Again.

It's more than that, it's also that polls show what the people want, not what the electoral college does. Because the election is not a direct reflection of the American vote, a poll showing how people will vote only gives a partial picture of election results.

The constant reports of polls led to voter apathy, so the attitude for many was, "I don't need to vote; others will do it for me." Everyone has to vote or else democracy fails.

Nasa Wallops launch: Astronauts to test new $23m toilet at space station
Nasa is to launch a new zero-gravity toilet for testing at the International Space Station (ISS) before its probable use in a future mission to the Moon.
The $23m (£17.8m) toilet, which sucks waste from the body, will be sent to the station on a cargo ship. Nasa said the toilet's "vacuum system" was designed for the comfort of female astronauts, unlike previous models. A rocket carrying the cargo ship was supposed to blast off from Wallops Island, Virginia, on Thursday. But the mission was aborted less than three minutes before lift off because of technical difficulties. Another launch attempt is due on Friday evening if engineers can fix the issues that caused Thursday's delay. -

Trump Covid: President criticised over drive-past
Medical experts are questioning Donald Trump's decision to greet supporters in a drive-past outside the hospital where he is being treated for Covid-19.
There are concerns the US president, who wore a mask, may have endangered Secret Service staff inside the car. White House spokesperson Judd Deere said the trip on Sunday had been "cleared by the medical team as safe". Questions remain over the seriousness of Mr Trump's illness after conflicting statements over the weekend. Speaking on Fox News, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said doctors would decide later whether the president could be discharged from Walter Reed hospital, near Washington, on Monday. -

More likely here you'd be shot FOR wearing a mask.

I'd wear my mask more. And I'd probably integrate a Biden sticker. Because it really shows how strong a person is when they go after someone with an obviously disabled arm/hand and I'll take any excuse to put a scump supporter in jail, forcing them to lose the right to vote, which their party demanded.

Trump Covid: Biden warns there is 'a lot to be concerned about'
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has criticised US President Donald Trump for downplaying the severity of coronavirus, saying there is "a lot to be concerned about".
He said the president should be communicating the "right lesson" on masks and social distancing. It came after Mr Trump told Americans not to fear Covid-19. He has returned to the White House to continue his treatment for coronavirus after a three-night hospital stay. The president, who is still contagious, removed his mask on the balcony of the White House while posing for pictures. While he is no longer in hospital, his doctor has said he "may not entirely be out of the woods yet". -

If you're out to pick a fight you might just get what you want. Better with peaceful protesting and democracy (elections).

FBI busts militia 'plot' to abduct Michigan Gov Gretchen Whitmer
The FBI says it has thwarted a plot to abduct and overthrow Michigan's Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Mrs Whitmer has become a target of coronavirus sceptics after enacting strict mitigation measures that were overturned by a judge last week. Officials say the kidnapping plot involved six men who planned to hold a "treason trial" for her. Mrs Whitmer's office has yet to comment. In May, armed protesters opposed to lockdown stormed the state capitol. According to a sworn FBI affidavit, an undercover law enforcement source attended a June meeting in Dublin, Ohio, where a group of Michigan-based militia members discussed overthrowing state governments "that they believed were violating the US Constitution". -
White House hosted Covid 'superspreader' event, says Dr Fauci
Top US virus expert Dr Anthony Fauci has criticised the White House for hosting a gathering last month that has been linked to an outbreak of Covid-19.
Dr Fauci, a member of the White House's coronavirus task force, said the president's unveiling of his judicial nominee was a "superspreader event". Dozens of White House aides and other contacts were reportedly infected. President Donald Trump's doctors have just cleared him to hold public events as he himself recovers from Covid-19. Mr Trump - who was discharged from hospital on Monday after three nights - plans to hold a medical "evaluation" on Fox News on Friday night. He is expected to host an in-person White House event on Saturday and a rally in Sanford, Florida, on Monday.
