Win 10 Pro to Fedora 32 NFS share
-
I have a NFS share on F32 Server (minimal) and transfers from another F32 machine will saturate the network connection. Connecting to the same server via W 10 Pro with NFS enabled will not exceed ~5.5 MB/s. Fresh install on the Windows machine and all the bloatware removed. This is the first time I have ever used NFS from a Windows machine. Is this normal?

No wifi in between, right? What are you using from the Windows side to connect? (The old Microsoft NFS connector was crap.)
5.5MB/s is really slow, even for a 100mb network.

@travisdh1 Hardwired to the switch. In the same room. It is just the default NFS from "Add Windows Features" menu. After it was enabled, I was able to see the share immediately.

@travisdh1 W10 Pro 2004. Plenty of RAM and CPU to go around.

That's your issue, the NFS from "Add Windows Features" is known to be slow.

I looked for a 3rd party client but most of them had mixed reviews. May have to do more research.

Can you setup an SMB share on the same server to test SMB throughput and rule out problems with the W10 machine vs problems with NFS on the W10 machine? Just thinking to cover all of your bases.

@notverypunny Have to try it. Was late when I started messing with it. Hopefully I will have some time this evening.

Yeah, famously a bad implementation.
