Outbound Email group terminology

In an Exchange environment, I think they call the outbound part "send as" permission - grant each group member the right to send as the group address. @Dashrender is right - they will almost certainly have to remember to select that address each time.
Doing this in exchange is challenging at best.
@dbeato knows how to do it in Exchange.

Thanks. I will look up the "Send As" term. That may work.
I just see customer service emails from the likes of webroot, CDW and many more.

Sounds to me like Shared Mailbox is what you want. Create the mailbox [email protected] and then give the necessary users permission. Then from within Outlook or web they should see a separate mailbox for that e-mail account that they all can share and work out of.

With Office 365 and Outlook you can do this. By default, when a user send or replies to the email from the shared mailbox, it will be sent from the user's address and not the shared mailbox address. You need to disable Auto mapping using PowerShell (code below); then set up the shared mailbox as another account in Outlook. OR remember to change the address using the From field in Outlook.

@Dashrender yes but if they reply to it, even in the shared mailbox, the reply with have a from address of the user and not the shared mailbox (by default)

@jt1001001 : That's definitely not correct.
If the user is using Outlook on PC (not Mac), it'll automatically set the FROM: address to that of the shared mailbox when replying to email.
When setting these mailboxes up in Exchange, ensure that member permissions are : "Read and manage" and "Send". "Send on behalf of" is not required in this scenario.Powershell is not needed to setup a shared mailbox nor permission delegation.

At this time, we currently we use Kerio Connect for email (users use webmail function not Outlook connector). That will hopefully change in the future based on changes that are currently happening at work.
I will check into the shared mailbox scenario also. Nice to know that there are possible options out there. Armed with the search terms, it definitely helps when researching my current and future email apps.

It was bought by GFI. That is the biggest issue. Large price increase and development prior to their purchase was much better. Support is not what it use to be either.
I'm being a little @scottalanmiller'ish as it has become more of a moral issue.
Plus, I would like to eventually SasS.
EDIT: Prior to GFI, I really liked Kerio. Stable release updates and support was awesome. Felt they had a huge chip on their shoulder and wanted to kick MS Exchange A$$. That trait is now gone and it reflects in their product.

Frankly, anyone should be able to help you solve the problem.
email groups gets the first part, group for [email protected] delivers to all members of that group. It's the replies that are challenging.
As mentioned a shared mailbox solves the replying in Exchange - though does likely require specifically opening up that shared mailbox and replying from within it - Not sure if you can use the "From" field while in your own mailbox (I know for aliases you can't, not in Exchange). -

If I was going to run on premises and/or self hosted, I'd look at MailCow and Zimbra first today.
