High resolution small displays

How do you guys handle working with very high resolution screens on 13 inch laptop?
Do you you zoom at an OS level, do you change your resolution, or do you just zoom in depending on app you are using like (browser, VSC, etc)?

By not buying them.

I was given one at work. I like the 13 inch laptop size, but resolution is definitely excessive for it's size.

Also hard to do on any new 13 inch displays with decent specs.

I lower the resolution at the OS level.

I have the OS run at 200% or more. Windows 10 scales much better than Windows 7 did for high DPI screens.

Honestly, anything higher than the 1080p resolution on a 13-inch laptop is a gimmick. The screen size is simply too small for any practical case of higher resolution. And even with 1080p, I have to scale my 13.3-inch laptop to 150%.
