US attorney general faces contempt vote over Mueller report

Democrats in the US House of Representatives have decided to launch contempt proceedings against Attorney General William Barr.

They took action after he failed to comply with a House Judiciary Committee subpoena to submit an unredacted version of the Mueller report.

Nothing against you @mlnews because, keep up the posting. But FFS stop doing it while I'm at work. People are starting to stare as I pound on my desk in disbelief over the things this government is doing on both sides.

      LOL

The US city of Denver is set to vote in a referendum that could in effect approve the use of magic mushrooms.

If passed, the measure would bar officials from "spending resources to impose criminal penalties" for personal use and possession of the drug.

US accuses China of backtracking on trade deal

US trade representative Robert Lighthizer has accused China of backtracking on commitments in trade talks, but insisted a deal on tariffs is still possible.

He said President Trump's threat to impose new taxes on Chinese exports came after China reneged on promises.

US climate objections sink Arctic Council accord in Finland

US objections to wording on climate change prevented Arctic nations signing a joint statement at a summit in Finland, delegates said.

It is the first time such a statement has been cancelled since the Arctic Council was set up in 1996.

EMBRACE THE PAST WITH MINECRAFT CLASSIC

You can run Minecraft Classic in your browser and you’ll soon see why. With just 32 blocks to build with, all the original bugs, and an (inter)face only a mother could love, Minecraft 2009 is even more glorious than we remembered!

In just ten days, our little crafting game turns ten years old! That means Minecraft still isn’t old enough to drive or run for president yet, but it is old enough for us to get all nostalgic for the good ol’ days of the game. Dangerously over-nostalgic? No, lovingly nostalgic, by releasing Minecraft Classic!

Iran nuclear deal: Tehran may increase uranium enrichment

Iran has suspended commitments under the 2015 international nuclear deal, a year after it was abandoned by the US.

President Hassan Rouhani said he would keep enriched uranium stocks in the country rather than sell them abroad.
