Gaming - What's everyone playing / hosting / looking to play
-
@Pete-S I've wanted one of those for years. Long ago, I almost built one. No space in my house now. But it is always in the back of my mind. My kids are video gamers big time, so they'd love it, too. Maybe when my new office gets built it can make the list of things to include.
I want one done in honeyed maple with stainless steel accents, though. A stand up arcade machine, but with an adult touch.

It's a fun DIY project if you have the tools and space to build it. Mine is all black so it's also a little more adult looking.
It doesn't take that much space actually. Real arcades are deeper but a DIY build can be shallower since it uses an LCD.

You can build or order something like this for minimal footprint:

It would be if I was into wood working. Not a project for me, I'm afraid.

Rimworld 1.0 was released the other week.
Rimworld sounds like a convention I really don't want to attend.
Nah we know you... that'd be right up your alley.

Or maybe right around the edges of it.

Microsoft Buys Obsidian Entertainment and inXile
The two studios promise to remain on track
Obsidian Entertainment and inXile, two gaming studios known for their masterful RPGs, have been bought by Microsoft.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen studios being bought by big companies. It looks like Obsidian Entertainment and inXile, the two victims, as the community undoubtedly considers them, have found a new home with Microsoft.
In case you didn’t already know, Obsidian Entertainment made games such as Neverwinter Nights 2, The Knights of the Old Republic, Fallout: New Vegas, and Pillars of Eternity. On the other hand, inXile is known for The Bard's Tale, Torment: Tides of Numenera, and Wasteland 2.

Well that sucks, MS has been known to kill good products, like Fable. Would be sad if these studios got treated like Lionhead or Mojang.
