It's a lovely area but the tax burden is a bit high so unless you're in love with the idea it may be worth looking for something further south.
It's where we want to go because of family and I do like the area for the most part.
Yep, it's a great area and Family is the sole reason I think we're still around here.
If I hear of anything in the area I'll let you know.

We are at least a year away from moving at this point. There a couple things we need to work towards first. I am also excited to reduce my mortgage quite a bit as you can get alot more house in that area compared to what you can get on the coast in Florida.

It's a nice area. Jobs aren't abundant, but it's not a depressed area, either. It's been recovering.

I think your best strategy is to get on the job hunt now, and be ready to move when you find a position you want. I don’t know of a specific head hunting company in the area, but maybe that’s the best way to go, since you’re holding out for the right fit?

Yeah, housing is super cheap and there are some really nice areas, especially if you want small city urban life (if you can call it that) or upstate village life. You can live in a nice small village, and still be only fifteen minutes out of downtown.

Yeah you may be right. We want to pay off a few debts first which we have planned to do in 6 months or less. At that point, I will be ready to dive head in. I just need to focus on tackling these right now. Having these debts taken care of will make a huge difference for us.

It's a nice area being so close to the Adirondacks. It doesn't matter if there a 100 good jobs there, you only need one. Start making connections and doing some gorilla marketing to find your next job. Start asking people "Is there anyone that you know that I should know?" (quote from John Maxwell)

I think you are quoting me there, lol. I say that all of the time.

Let's not forget "IT isn't local" as well.
