Colo centers around Cleveland, OH

Just wondering as I finally have an opportunity to grab a decent server to use for my home lab, and would like somewhere to put it.
Colocation America is always an option in Chicago. Of course then I might actually have to stop and get @JaredBusch a drink while I'm around as well.
I'd really like something a little closer to home, so was wondering if anyone knows of a good colo facility in the Cleveland area for a 1u?

Colo should have no consideration for location to where you are. Latency and taxes are the only reasons location matters, and that's baked into things. Why are you looking for one near you?

That's normally true, but I just don't have vacation time or the extra money to travel at the moment.
I know I sound be able to trust a place without meeting or setting their facilities as well, but that just doesn't work for me. If I'm going to be doing business with a company for years to come, I want to meet some of the people.

You dont' think enterprises travel to colocation facilities? That's not how colo works. You just ship a server to them. You don't "go to" colo any more than you "go to" cloud.

So all hosted services you can't use then? This isn't how IT works. It's not realistic. It'll limit you to only the facilities you'd never want to use.
I know people who did this and pay $90% over what they should, and don't have as good of a facilities.

And I'd say that's crazy, too. You actually would not work with any enterprise providers because you want to treat them like the SMB and base your purchasing on getting to chill with sales people and representatives and ignore their corporate service reputation?
So Google, Microsoft, Zoho, Amazon... no contacts with those. But Billy Bob's Hometown Computer Repair up the street would get a big contract just because he's got time to have his techs have coffee with you?
This isn't how you do business. Nor how consumers buy things. This guarantees that the good vendors are off limits to you.

I don't think so. The point is you are treating an enterprise service like it's a hometown restaurant. You are forgetting the colo is like AWS or Vultr, not like Marge's Diner where the owner has free time and likes to sometimes pour the coffee themselves and say howdy to the regulars.

That was my point, though, that that vendor selection criteria is what is bad. Selecting vendors only by not being good choices? That doesn't make sense.
