yum-cron and office365 smtp notifications
-
So on a few CentOS 7 systems I have configured with yum-cron, I have the config file set to send me an email when updates are due, but haven't received any of them.
While investigating this, it appears I might need to have ssmtp installed (and so I've installed this on one of my systems for testing).
Does anyone else have yum-cron sending out smtp emails via office365 and get the notifications. Any pointers?

You don't have to if the public IP is setup in Office365.

All of my stuff hits a
postfix
system that is designed to be a SMTP relay first, generally. But the public IP of the Postfix system is setup as a connector in Office365, so nothing else is needed.

We have a universally setup "smtp" email account that should be used for this.
[email protected]
password
smtp.office365.com:587ssmtp keeps attempting to use port 25 though. . .

What is odd, is I do get other email communications from postfix from my asset management system.

yum-cron
anddnf-automatic
do not use postfix or any other MTA. They simply open and send with a direct SMTP connection by default.
