@scottalanmiller Well, I am buying it for him so it will be the cheapest 4GB RAM model I can find. Probably a refurb from Newegg.

Facebook in general on a 4GB model is a little clunky. I wouldn't go super cheap, shoot more middle of the road model.

4GB works great for me, haven't noticed any speed issues. Maybe ensure it is ARM based, not AMD64. Uses a lot less RAM for the same operations.

I've got an Asus and love it. Acer has some great looking models, too.

            I really like Acer Chromebooks.

Facebook and its games are all browser based so I am pretty sure this should work fine for him. I prefer Asus but honestly not a lot of difference between Acer either.

This is for someone who is a PITA for me. They are family, I love them, but geez a PITA and honestly I don't want to deal with Windows issues with them. Like antivirus and malware. Which they are prone to because they surf the net all day. I am buying this out of my own pocket to get them out of my hair so it will be the best bang for the buck I can find. I will go with a model with 4GB of RAM. I know that makes a huge difference. I just wish Chromebooks had a better ssh client. I would be all over them. I have had them and the ssh client just leaves me wanting more. I like Terminator Terminal on my Linux Desktop.

Any of the new ones that support Google Play have access to really good SSH clients.

Works fine but not for SSH.

SSH is for outbound, Chrome Remoting for inbound.

Oh, haha. You can use it on any machine with a Chrome browser. So you can play with it without needing a ChromeBook.

@scottalanmiller Cool. I'll play with it sometime. So many things to do it was just something I have heard of but never took time to mess with

@scottalanmiller And to make it worse I get a lot of ideas of projects to work from here to keep learning. I have a long list haha and less time by the day
