I was told a few days ago the Dell R710 that comes with the H700 has craptacular performance issues with SSD. In my production servers I use H730's so I know and stand by them 🙂

But for my test server I dunno if it would work 😞

All older controllers are pretty bad with SSD. SSD requires so much more performance than controllers used to have.

To control staple guns? Like a staple gun wielding robot?

              Adapted and LSI are best.

@scottalanmiller im back in the office today. Good thing the power transformer appears to be successfully online from Alabama Power (it's ungodly huge). Hoping this week things will return to normal.

For the most part the server is working fine! I'm actually gonna nuke it soon so I can re-attempt Hyper-V 2016 then KVM.

When you do setup KVM, I would look into virt-builder. You can get a Linux VM setup pretty quickly. The only thing to be aware of is that those builds don't use LVM. Not a big issue if you are using them as s stateless VM OS and have a second virtual disk for your data.

I meant virtual disks. VM1 with virtual disk 1 = OS and virtual disk 2 = data
