Pi-Hole
How is pi-hole working out for you? Seems interesting.
Love it, works GREAT. So easy to maintain.
The UI looks very similar to Snipe-IT
Sadly for a lot of people, no web interface.
It broke and nothing seems to brnig it back. Works fine, just no interface.
That's really weird. I am surprised that it is not repairable.
Probably is, only put so much time into it. But the forums had lots of people with the issue and no clear fixes.

Yeah, I guess I meant as a bug fix.

Many of them using Fedora with SELinux enforced?

Not sure, this is my ONE workload on Ubuntu.

@wrx7m My friend runs two piholes in his school district. Cuts down on so much crap for him.

@bbigford They have a "Storage Instance" tab that is always sold out, I was lucky enough to grab one like 6 months ago. They've been sold out every time I've logged in since then.
They are SO popular.
I've been searching for their storage instance alert. Where did you even find that on their site?

I love PiHole. I run it as a vm locally at home. It amazes me how much it blocks.

You have to log in first. Most of the Vultr options are only visible to authenticated users. Once you are logged in, all your choices appear when you go to deploy something. You select a normal VM or a storage VM.

I was really excited when I looked up Vultr after looking at this thread, because they have $2.50 instances and that is the price point I was looking for. The load I need a VPS for is very small (just checks some websites then it posts on facebook). I was event semi-effectively using CloudAtCost for it, but every 4 months or so my server would become unresponsive and would require to be rebuilt.
However, now that I have signed up for Vultr, (and foolishly even added credit to my account) I see they don't actually have any $2.50 instances available. Does anyone know how frequently they come back up for sale?

Get yourself on their email notification list. They do make more available at a good clip, but that instance is so popular they just can't rack equipment fast enough. If you catch the notification, you can normally grab one before they run out.

NJ Datacenter has them:

They had them just a few days ago.

@dbeato Thanks! I didn't check all the locations

Turns out I don't even need a VPS. I can periodically run my program with my free CI minutes on GitLab.com. It did come in handy for building and pushing the Docker images though, since my upload speed is 350 Kbps.
