@scottalanmiller You mean new posts? because I have been doing some replies. I am in a meh situation on posting but you know about that.
Neither. I have alerts on all the tech posts and nothing has come through. Maybe you are seeing WC activity?
Just because you do not receive email does not mean posts do not happen. I cannot grasp why you continually try to make this argument.
Yes, you are subscribed and based on how they designed their community, you should then see email. But the lack of receipt of an alert email does not mean a lack of posting.
I found that most of the time their system never sends an email when it's supposed to. Seems like this has been a thing for a long time.
YEs, I agree but if you don't sign up for all the groups you don't get the emails. WIth emails they have it limited to when you check the post again so it is not like here where you get all emails regardless (unless you press unsubscribe).
Of course. I was signed up for all.

Even for WSUS and stuff like that?

Yeah. In theory at least. I went through them all and subscribed. Except the WC and non-tech groups.

subscribed. Except the WC and non-tech groups.
There are new Spiceworks Groups recently so I can see some groups already missing.

That's just an idiotic site design to have your activity system break like that. Who would be so dumb as to make it work that way?

Do you mean that it should update all groups and continue that way without you going back correct?

Have they not proven how poorly they do things for you yet? Is it really any surprise at all when they do dumb things?

It should at least alert that there is something new you have to subscribe to. I shouldn't have to go back and "correct" a break that they introduce. Especially not if they break it silently.

Oh okay, that is what I thought you meant but wanted to be clear.

Like if we subscribe to "all", you expect "all" to remain. Not become "not all" over time.

But you are not subscribed to all so it is not really relevant to your position.
And subscription is not a notification system. It is a subscription system. Notifications are a different function.
Also, you are not using the site as designed. You are using it your way. You cannot call design decisions that are not your way wrong. They are the sites designer’s choice.

How is it not as designed, though? I'm using the only system that they provided at the time. All of the others are later additions.
-
I'm using the system "as they claim it was designed."

No you are not. There has always been a feed (url/name has changed over the years). There has always been the designed flow of seeing the stuff you care about by clicking into the category.
Subscription has never been the designed method to see "all" stuff because there has never been any designed method to see "all" stuff.

I think the fact that @JaredBusch is stating is that you left out some Private Groups and WC which made it to to not have all the groups.
-
But to be fair in all, I used to have in the morning 90 emails from SPiceworks, now I have about 15-20. And my participation besides this week hasn't been null.

That's fair. But there isn't a "select all" function either.

There is not, the closest to it is to unsubscribe from all email below:

Correct, because they have an intentional design that does not include such a thing. For email or anything else.

Are you sure they had a feed? When I was using email, it was years before they talked about a feed.
