In your situation, you may need to ask help from a Broken Android Data Extraction tool. It helps you extract data from a broken screen or dead Android phone.
@scottalanmiller is an account like this spam? It was created to comment on a thread that has already been resolved? It doesn't appear the account is pushing any agenda or anything. It just seems weird to make an account to create one comment then disappear.
I looked at it and couldn't tell. It seemed fishy, especially as it is about Android stuff, always a trigger. But there is no link and no product mentioned. So can't figure out how it could be.
Yeah that was puzzling me as well.
Might be spam, but if it is, it's non-promotional spam.

Hi, I'm a Nigerian prince. I don't need anything, just wanted to say hi.

It is really an odd type of spam because it doesn't benefit the spammer.

Exactly. Unless there is something more complicated, like it automates replies for a while before doing something more. Which is what smart spam posting would do.

Figured I'd move this in case it was a legit user, don't want to post a bunch about spam if they really aren't
-
It's tough because people often look for a way to contribute and feel that they cannot and so first posts can be awkward.

You moved it while I was replying.. That is why you should lock threads prior to moving/splitting.

I just noticed that.

I wish that they would add a feature to move your responses too if responding to a quote that was moved.

Incorrect. Well moderated communities and communities with good bot prevention like ML end up with this type of spammer.
Generally they post a couple "safe" replies over a small period of time, then they drop their links. suddenly. and if not banned, repeat again in a few weeks.
Not typically bots, but cheap labor paid to simply log in and do so.

Yes, we do get that from time to time. More often we just get the account creation and wait model, which is simpler.

Thaty become stricky because a lot of people respond in one big reply to multiple things on many topics.
You subscribe to the one at a time model..
so once something is cut up, how does a system know when it is a quote that should go.

Then it just leaves it, but for those posting to a single idea, it would keep working.

Wow! That seems like a lot of work with very little if any reward!

Barely any more than the register and wait method.
Just a random semi-coherent reply and then wait.
Labor is dirt cheap in places. It only takes a few clicks to make way more money than what was spent.

SPAM is big money, and the effort is tiny. Like, approaching zero.
