Recommended software for networking.

Hi I am seeing what tools people here are using/recommending for diagnosing a network ?

Do you have anything specific you are trying to diagnose right now, or are you just looking for some of the tools we use?

@castellanosjc I generally just use the built in utilities for Windows or linux.
netstat/ss, tracert/tracepath, dig, ping. these will usually tell you if and where a problem exists. -
has anybody used software called pingplotter and have found it a useful tool ?

I have used the built in utilities, just wanted to see if there was a software with a more graphical interface that could be used ?

I like to use Zabbix (https://www.zabbix.com) for long term usage tracking. It can give you ping times as such if you need to track those. You can set alarms for when hosts go down or something hits a metric (low disk drive space, high ping time, etc).

I use Wireshark a lot, netstat, dig/nslookup, and ping.

I like ZenMap (nmap for Windows)
