@NerdyDad said in MangoCon 2017: Advantages of MangoCon versus other conventions. - Convention location is the same spot as the hotel.
- It's not in an isolated, once-abandoned, redone convention center that takes shuttles and maybe a private guard with the Mafia just to make sure you don't "swim with the fishes" or "get a new pair of concrete shoes".
 I... uh... what?

I... uh... what? The Pure Accelerate venue is in an abandoned warehouse that has been renovated. There is no parking, no hotels within 3 miles of it, and you have to drive through somebody else's parking lot to get to it.

I've heard that they were having financial problems, but had no idea it was that bad.

That's where VMWorld was when I went there a few years back. It was insane. I registered late so to get between my hotel and the conference, I had to take a airport shuttle so I could take the BART train to the conference. It was 45 minutes of travel each way.

There is definitely a presence for investors here as well. A majority of the focus is for IT pros/customers whole there is a small focus to investors.

President of Pure just admitted that they put it together in the "crack" side of town.
