MySQL to PostgreSQL conversion

So it's working correctly under MySQL?

Recommends PostgreSQL is one thing. Being worth converting is another. You will need a Moodle-specific converter to do this. There is no generic conversion. As long as MySQL is supported, I would stick with it.

Why worry about moving? Is something not working?
For example, I have NodeBB setup for one place using Redis and for another using MongoDB.
I feel no need to migrate anything jsut because of a recommended setup.

PostgreSQL and MySQL are the two supported database options. MySQL is very good. There is an article that argues that PostgreSQL is better when you do extra tuning on it and I would guess that this is true, PostgreSQL is the more powerful, robust and advanced of the two. But that isn't the big deal that it sounds like. MySQL is extremely capable and takes less experience and effort to use.

No, if it's working then your configuration is supported. No need to look at moving off of it for the various reasons both @JaredBusch and @scottalanmiller gave.

Considered, sure. But I would say that unless there is a key feature or a huge specific concern, not to worry about it. This is nearly a six of one, half a dozen of the other scenario from the outset. They are both fully supported for a reason. Both will scale to massive size, both can do high availability, both are free and well known, both have support options, etc.

LOL, sometimes that's exactly what you want. This would have been a large, horrible project. Now it's a simple "Oh good, we are all set"
