Disable Game Bar in Windows 10

She did, that's a sign of a Windows 10 infection.

My Windows 10 1703 installs do not have this active.
Also, if tt is active, you can disable it from the settings panel like any other setting.
Going into the registry is just wrong.
I have not looked for a GPO setting as this has never affected any of my clients.
Did you bother to look for a GPO setting? Or did you just jump straight to the OMFG kill it with fire in the registry?

This is some serious BS from MS. So few people will use this it should be something you have to install, not installed by default.

that's the name of the game for Windows today. In all honestly, I don't consider this a serious product any longer. Windows is now an entertainment platform a la Windows 98.

I did a screen share and she showed me the prompt.This happens all the time on using Citrix Receiver on any Windows 10 computer

Although it will not record anything anyway.I haven't tried recording in a Citrix connected session - though for training videos, I suppose that could be helpful.

A google search did not turn up a specific GPO setting - and no I didn't dig into the thousands of GPO settings looking for it.
But I can very EASILY put a registry change into a GPO and solve this problem - and since the registry is what I found first when googling for a GPO solution to this, that is what I posted here in this thread.
The registry post was also for Admins, not normal home users who just want to turn it off for themselves. We are a SMB support site, are we not?

That's a bit harsh, I think @JaredBusch was trying to resolve the issue for that user specifically. The Registry can be used over GPO as the AMDX Templates do not include that setting as far as I have seen.

As for JB helping my one user - I already solved the issue for my user with the registry solution.
