ChunkVNC
-
I have been playing around with ChunkVNC on a VPS I have setup. It isn't easy to configure, but once you configure everything it is great. Basically its UltraVNC that works through firewalls and routers. Once you get passed the configuration headaches its awesome and completely FREE.
A few months ago, I reviewed Desk Roll. I gave it a good review because it worked well and was reasonably priced at $30 a month. Come to find out that DeskRoll is just a branded version of ChunkVNC. I am currently working on branding it for me.
@ajstringham has helped me play around with it a little bit too. So he might have some input as well.

I have nothing to add at the moment, but I'll monitor the thread to see if I have anything to add later.

I have never heard of ChunkVNC. I will go check that out.

Supports Windows and Mac. No Linux, argh. Why do none of these tools support Linux?

How is the security in ChunkVNC? Is insecure RFB protocol addressed or is that not something that they have tackled yet? I don't see it in the feature list or notes.

Just stumbled on this: "NOTE: Although the Windows repeater is recommended, a Perl repeater script is available in the Repeater/Linux folder for those who wish to run a repeater from a Linux box. This is considered advanced and requires knowledge of Linux command line."

I used this plugin

Pretty well. I have only used it with friends and family. Not with any actual clients yet, but the speed is pretty good and its just as configurable as UltraVNC. Many different settings can be tweaked for slow connections or other special circumstances.
