Gaming - What's everyone playing / hosting / looking to play

@coliver said in Gaming - What's everyone playing / hosting / looking to play: @NDC said in Gaming - What's everyone playing / hosting / looking to play: My copy of Inheritance arrived this week. It is perty! A slightly LARPy RPG experience wherein a clan of vikings squabble over goods and power in the wake of the death of their leader. Played several years ago in a prior incarnation. It was a convention demo for Burning Wheel back then(and awesome!). Now it is a self contained game and rule set. Will hopefully get to try it out soon! I loved the Burning Wheel RPG... at least the books. I haven't had the opportunity to play it yet. I am in love with both the rules and presentation for basically everything BWHQ do. I've not played more than a few one shots at home and at conventions, but Luke and Co. have had a strong influence on what I expect from a game.

I bought their product on a whim at the first PAX East. The resolution and character creation systems really sold me. Wish I had a steady game group to play it.

I got my first copy at a tiny NJ convention in the dealer's room. It was the first edition. Things have changed a fair bit as time has passed. I don't think the social resolution mechanics existed yet for example. It was excellent then but has definitely benefited from the additional play and thought they've put in over the years.

Got the Dawn Of War III Open Beta this weekend, so probably playing that and seeing if it'll bring me back or not...I loved the city-builder RTS of the original DOW (Plus expansions) and then was disappointed they completely removed that for DoW2 and moved to a turn-based attack game which I hate...

I'm a ways in and the story on SR2 is definitely quite good.

Board games and stuff this weekend. Mysterium is very good if anyone has an interest in co-operative games.

Co-operative board games? That doesn't compute. I play board games to win and crush everyone else's hopes and dreams.

Ha, it's not a computer you're right. Co-op games are fantastic they add another dimension of play that you don't get from competitive games.

 Liesl is playing The Escapists.

Played some of the Dawn Of War Beta this weekend - really like the game, going back to its roots (yet to play the campaign) but the Orks were so overpowered it ruined it a tad...

@NattNatt I could not disagree more. I absolutely hated the open beta. The game is just way too simplistic and the races are extremely similar in too many ways. Huge fan on the 40k universe and I wanted to love it but just can't.
