Sadly, Some don't realize that. While it doesn't need to have a ton of information, because well a lot of what you do will depend on the client for some business but, It sure needs to look good and not like a 5 year old did it.

They keep playing ITT Tech commercials around here saying you'll get such great jobs straight out of there. And they say NTSG is a company that hires manily ITT Tech grads.

Yeah, look at their website: http://ntsginc.com/ Don't know about anyone else but that just looks bad as a first impression.

Wow that is bad, but alot of IT websites are pretty bad.

MSPmentor has a list of the top 100 MSPs in 2008. Yeah its a little dated, but it gives you a good idea of what type of websites successful MSPs have. Each of the MSPs listed in the top 100 has their website included. Some of those sites are shockingly bad too.

@IRJ Sadly most of those websites I tried are no longer even around. Guess that says something haha.

LOL, I bet a lot of those companies are truly gone. MSPMentor doesn't really get the top MSPs, it gets the top MSPs that participate in their little world. Lots do, but most I reckon don't even know who they are.

It's like Spiceworks. Being the best or biggest in SW is something, but it isn't the whole world. The average SMB IT shop or average MSP hasn't actually heard of them. Many have, but most haven't. There just isn't any really good central collection for this stuff. SW is as close as you can get.

I looked at a few. They were not good at all. Don't even look like legit businesses. Many surely do, just not the ones that I took a peek at.

Looks to be made in FrontPage (which has been discounted since 2003).

The webdesign firm who made their "page" is gone.

Yeah, if you're not into web design, you should really look to hire others to do it..

But even that apparently doesn't save you either.

@Dashrender Or use a CMS and modify a theme. I'd say very few companies hire true Php web developers these days. It's just not cost effective to do it. Especially when you have to constantly pay them to maintain it. With a CMS you can have your PR/Administrative departments handle updating content with little to no IT help.

@scottalanmiller No Wonder. It was more like lack of Design.

It's amazing how often people don't check the portfolios. There is a firm near NTG that was truly awful yet people always hired them.

Web design is bizarre. One shop does it for $100. Next is $35K. Hard to guess which site will be better. It is all over the map.
