The requirement to actually wield SQL has been included to make certifications reflect more real-world effort, instead of just theory.WHAT!? I need to know how to use something (real world context) to get qualified? Say it isn't so!
</sarcasm>Sounds like they won't be handing out MS SQL certifications at public toilets anymore. Yay for them.

By harder I hope they mean that it will be harder to boot camp these tests.
Personally, I would rather be given a lab with a few VM's and told to complete a few tasks, and then answer some questions along the way. Demonstrate the skill and the knowledge.

Wow, so I reading the article more I see that's exactly what they are going to do!

I've said it for years now, brain dumps are terrible and it created way too many paper MCSA's and MCSE's who couldn't tell you the difference between a container and an object in Active Directory or would ask really dumb questions about configurations while boasting the latest cert.
