Yes, for a "farm" it is totally useless. But for a home garden this is so perfect. It's the right size for a home garden and it handles mixed plants as easily as doing all the same one so perfect for the variety that single families need. But it's better-suited to Americans, who have small plots of land, money for gadgets, want a garden, and have no time to deal with it.

$3k is such a steep hurdle to care for such a small garden. You would almost never recoup your food cost. I'd like to see something like this for about a third of the price. I understand that probably isn't feasible right now in terms of cost and technology, but it would be hard to see any monetary gain at $3k.

It's the larger sizes that really are needed to make it pay off. Doing a tiny one would be really hard. Although they did say that it will last for a very long time.
It's actually Panama where I would see this paying off the most. Similar culture to the US, but with food costs as much as 500% higher. So the ability to pay this off would be easier.

I'm hoping that the trend continues down the market as well. There are some smaller dairies that could benefit from this technology.

Yeah even at $1k it would be difficult to recoup the investment in a few years here in the United States. However, I think $1k is a price a hobbyist could afford. That would be about my budget on something like this.
