DattoDrive - FSS for small businesses (1tb $10/mo unlimited users)
-
DattoDrive is a file sync & share service offered with small and medium businesses in mind. Instead of taking the typical per user model of pricing, it is priced by space usage.
DattoDrive is free for one year and then $10/month for your entire organization. With this, you get 1tb of space. Upgrades are available to larger offerings if necessary.
Datto is a company dedicated to total data protection and business continuity. We have our own private cloud consisting of 9 datacenters around the world with 2 bi-coastal centers in the US. We have 250+ petabytes of space and 700 employees dedicated to protecting business data, no matter where it lives.

Hope you don't mind me asking a few questions here. Should help answer questions others might also share.
Are backups of these files done? If so at what interval? If so, how are restores done?
If someone gets hit by cryptoware, how does DattoDrive help protect the customer?
Is the intention of this product to be a sync/remote access type service or a replacement for Sharepoint/OwnCloud/OneCloud?
Are there iPhone/Android apps?
How about a Linux sync apps?
Are you able to see files stored in DattoDrive from a webbrowser?
-
@Dashrender Questions are always welcome!
DattoDrive is actually a rebranded and modified version of ownCloud. It has all of the core functionality that would normally come with ownCloud with some of the server side stuff removed.
Each subdomain or account within DattoDrive is it's own private instance in our cloud. Version control is handled within the instance and is described on this page: https://doc.owncloud.org/server/9.1/user_manual/files/version_control.html
There are iPhone, Android, and desktop applications (win/linux/mac) that are also re-branded from ownCloud.
There is also a webapp available.
I have to check my knowledge on instance level backup before I get into a conversation about ransomware and restores outside of the version control already available. Will try to post that later on today or tomorrow.

They are primarily a backup vendor, so let's hope so

This IS ownCloud. It's not "like" ownCloud, it is hosted ownCloud. So all ownCloud functionality and clients are there.

LIke any service like this, I'm going to guess that they use versioning and the built in file management and restore options for you to restore files and the backups are to restore the instance if the instance fails. You would not backup or restore individual files.
-
Since this is a relatively new offering, we currently do support exactly what @scottalanmiller referred to. Within the instance, file versioning exists as the method of backup.
At the instance level, it is currently replicated between two of our datacenters, but snapshots are not yet taken. When we do our 2.0 release, we hope to have this available. (snapshots would protect against ransomware in the same way the SIRIS would)

What are the costs over 1tb?
-
Will you have a HIPAA compliant offering?
-
I believe the majority of that responsibility would fall upon the end-user.
Our cloud is HIPPA compliant, but the instance compliance would be dependent upon the use of a firewall, group settings, and an ensured review of file history logs.
I have our legal rep looking into it to figure out if there are any other issues.

That's normally true. There is minimal requirements on your end for HIPAA.

Just a quick question...
Is this strictly for internal use?
I figure this is "designed" for one company per Instance. So if I was working with multiple companies I would need 1 account for each.
Is there a partner sales model for this?
-
@prcssupport This is designed for one company per instance. If you are an MSP you would have one instance per client. There is a partner sales model. Message me for details if you're interested ^_^
