Quickbooks Online

Anyone have any experience working with Quickbooks online? We are considering a move from a locally hosted server to the online service and I'd like some feedback from those that have or are using it.

Have not used it. I've heard problems with it, but not as many as with on premises QuickBooks. We moved to Wave and then to Xero instead of QuickBooks Online and both have been awesome. We work with a large accounting firm in Manhattan (largest bookkeepers in the city) and they highly recommend Xero.

I have worked with a couple small shops hat used it. It seemed fine, just looked like a normal web interface. The main reason I think was they couldn't get check printing from Wave, which seems to be a big oversight.

I use it for my business/consulting and I've not been able to find it. People complained a lot in the forums but nothing ever came of it.

They also don't have invoicing support for Android devices, only iOS. You can do receipts but no invoices.

The web interface seems to get slower every time I use it.
I like the product, not ripping on it, but just giving all of the facts.

Last I heard it still doesn't have all the functionality of the non-hosted version. Still, if you can live without the features that it doesn't have, then it's a good option. Also consider some of the alternatives like Freshbooks.

I've heard that recently as well. Lots of limitations that you would not expect.

Yeah I used to work at Intuit so I was pretty familiar with both products. QBO was a complete rewrite, which is good because the QB codebase is 30 years old, but bad in that you have to play catchup with the features and the dev/support efforts.

How long is it taking to catch up? Isn't that like a decade?
