Bits and Bytes (1983)

It's amazing how educational this show is, even today. I think especially for those who are younger, like yourself, this is an amazing way to learn about computer history and a lot of theory that is often lost due to the abstract nature of computers today.
-
I hope to soon start using this as part of my daughter's home school regime. It's been a couple of years now since I last watched it so I am looking forward to watching it again myself.
-
These are fantastic! I don't know how I'm going to keep myself from putting these on our Wiki at work and flagging them as mandatory training for all the engineers...

Have you seen them before now? These are my favourite computer videos ever made. I grew up on these.

My seven year old is starting computer class today. We are starting with this!!
-
"I'm afraid computers don't do anything on their own" Until judgment day, then we'll start getting computers with Austrian accents.

I had not seen them before you posted them. I would have been 2 years old when they originally aired.

My five year old ended up watching it with us too. She is the age that I was when this show first aired.
-
Watching episode two with my seven year old right now.

Those are awesome, too. I watched most of them a few years ago.

My daughter requested three episodes today!!

I decided to check these out last night while my wife (non-technical) was in the room. I may have drank a glass of rum, and watched 3 episodes back to back. Then I got really excited while explaining modems to my wife. Thanks @scottalanmiller for sending me down this rabbit hole, I have to watch the whole series now.
-
I watched SEVEN episodes with my daughter today!

I am still working on identifying ear and eyes with my daughter, but one day I will probably be sharing these with her as well.
-
My five year old watched a bit but is not picking it up like the seven year old who loves these. I watched all of these when I was seven with my dad, so this is very nostalgic for me.
-
Just finished these with my daughters. They are five and seven and loved going through this series!

Hey, I watched some of these videos with my friend years ago when we were 5, it remind me of my old commodore 64 and making my first program and taking it apart and getting grounded!!! funny times!!
-
I used to watch this show too!
Had a TI 99/4A and an IBM PCjr.
Other kids on the block had Commodore 64, VIC-20, Timex Sinclair 1000.

I've never seen a computer using a cassette in my whole life, this is new for me! so amazing, I started with Floppy Disks, so the first episode was so interesting!!!
