@scottalanmiller no Oracle is calling my boss trying to get their foot in the door. I mentioned the very same thing you mentioned, why go to a third party for something we already have.

Why would he accept that call? I mean that honestly, what crazy situation would have him talk to them?

Totally random people just got my number and tried to sell me stuff. Huh, I think the company that I work for should spend time and money investigating products we would never have considered before just because I like the sales guy more than the company I'm paid to protect from sales guys.

That's the mental conversation I imagine going on leading to this.

I got a spam email from someone trying to sell me raw lumber or something useless to me this morning. I deleted it instead of researching if I had a use for raw lumber. Right now your boss in investing company resources in trying to aid Oracle.

At least Oracle VM isn't that bad, it's just a silly thing to be discussing.

Should we be deploying RHEL 3 today?

@scottalanmiller Do you have a need for RHEL 3?

For what it's worth, I completely agree'd with everything said here about it, why do it? There would be no gain etc.

                    It's all in the OP.

Because it is old and pointless, just like Oracle VM is now.

Is that the same as RHEL 5? Because we have one or two of those still.

No, the RH series was spent and replaced by the RHEL series. So RHEL 5 is a full five generations after the RH series died off. And RH 5 was nowhere near the end of the line.

The latest Red Hat Linux release was Red Hat Linux 9 in early 2003. Thirteen years ago!

RH 5 was the first Red Hat Linux that I used. It released in 1997!! About to turn twenty!
