Windows Defender: Advanced Threat Protection

Announcing Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection
We designed Windows 10 from the very beginning to be our most secure platform ever. With features like Credential Guard, Device Guard, Windows Hello, and Enterprise Data Protection, Windows 10 offers unique defenses from attacks. Windows Defender, our free anti-malware service, provides protection to almost 300 million devices β every day. And Windows continues to raise the defenses in the system every month as any security issues are investigated and proactively updated through Windows Update.
This ongoing commitment to security has led to strong demand from enterprise customers. From the Department of Defense, which is adopting Windows 10 across all branches of service, starting this year with 4 million devices β to NASCAR to Virgin Atlantic to schools all over the world β weβre excited to see customers with the most demanding requirements move to Windows 10 faster than ever before.

@nadnerB I wonder if they've gotten threat detection to match the other free offerings yet? I know Security Essentials was almost as good back when Windows 7 was new, and I don't remember the name of the labs that run that type of test now

So someone thinks it's going to be free for businesses. I wonder, will this come with Windows Pro or only with Windows Enterprise?
MS is finally making Enterprise look like a more worthwhile upgrade, but damn.. still just more money to spend.

That's the Windows world. Commitment to paying for all the little features. Great stuff, but the cost to "do things the Windows way" gets really expensive. And doing anything else leave you without the benefits of the ecosystem that money is being invested into.
