Not very tragic as it is a pretty awful search engine, but it is the default on some browsers that I have and sometimes I do some trivial searching there because I am too lazy to change the default. Anyway, the entire Yahoo Search infrastructure appears to have been offline for a few hours now. That's a pretty epic outage, I must say.

Interesting - well in the grand scheme of things, as you mentioned, barely anyone will notice.

I wonder if the problem is a connection between Yahoo and Microsoft (Yahoo is using Bing) or is Yahoo in the process of transitioning back to Google (that was reported in the new yesterday or the day before).

Mine just brings up an error message saying that Yahoo Seach is gone.

The message is: We had temporary problems searching for web pages.

Mine's working too - maybe it's a regional thing with one of their data centers.

And a global issue of not redirecting to a working datacenter 🙂

I read that it was expected to be up before about 30 minutes... Reading news articles about it being down for hours.

                    I am Jack's skepticism.

@scottalanmiller It must be regional, as it's fine here in southern Idaho. Yahoo could be down for a month and the only way I'd know, is from seeing it in news articles. lol
