There are still concerns and questions about the CEO and his commitment and focus, especially as he reportedly is looking to take a majority stake in an NBA team soon. From an investor standpoint, disregarding Citron's fraud accusations, it's a concern, however doesn't ultimately affect the products.

Seeking Alpha has covered Ubiquiti pretty well since then. They aren't fond of the way the CEO has handled the allegations as well as other areas of the company, but ultimately they, like many others, don't see the ultimate fraud that Citron claims to see.

In other news, Citron apparently has chosen their next victim... Shopify. Has made some pretty bold claims against them as the new Herbalife (If you haven't seen the documentary about Herbalife "Betting on Zero" you should). It seems to me like Citron is really trying to capitalize on their 15 secs of fame.

Also take a look at your NTFS permissions.
I thought ABE was based on NTFS permissions?
I believe its only for shares.
I think you are correct, but the share permissions is for the entire drive mapping/UNC usage. The NTFS permissions are what actually determine the ABE settings and what the user sees.
This is correct. Share permissions are generally Everyone and NTFS are fine-tuned based on who needs what access. We set this up a couple of years ago and it has been very convenient for our users.
We also do the same thing too. And then we use role-based permissions to make managing permissions easier.
Yes you definitely want to assign these permissions based on groups and not individual users everywhere possible. Put users into groups, assign NTFS based on those groups. Move users around, in, out, whatever and don't have to change too many permissions.

Other oddity. Both redacted IP addresses are the same.
I think I had this happen when I set up mine. Everything seemed to work fine, but the error message was still there. I can't remember if it was a simple reboot that fixed it, a firmware upgrade, or what.

I find the WiFi and Bluetooth not turning off from the control panel (just disconnecting) irritating.
I have nothing that I want connected in the background AFTER I turn the $radio off.
I love this feature. If my home internet is slow I can disconnect with the push of a button, then when I get to work it automatically connects to the wifi there. I don't have to try to remember to turn it back on, it just connects.
I guess if you have a more advanced configuration, like VPN or something, this might be a nuisance. How hard would it really be for them to just give us the option of what the button does though?
They should make it a toggle button. Tap once = disconnect. Tap again = Turn off. Tap again = Turn on.

Hooray for the new release being named "Bloat"..... ?
From their website...
Odd choice in my opinion. I just updated a bench computer I was playing with this morning. Upgrade seems to have gone smoothly from 25 although I didn't really have anything running on it before hand.

buy my first home in cash

It wouldn't be anything glamorous, but a decent fixer-upper around here I could get for $80k - $110k. Living at home with minimal expenses, it was easy to save $15-20k annually even with a beginner salary.

If I could take my current wage, and live in Mississippi, I'd be golden!
But, I would never want to live there.... so yeah.
My wife and I in 6 years will be kid free. So we are really looking at what we want to do and where we to live after kids as we will have a lot more options and it will be easier to do. We ruled out all places that have a much too high of living cost. We are looking at Tennessee. I am even thinking about getting out of IT and going into brewing. Hard Ciders and fruits.
I'm not sure what you are basing your 6 years on, but kids living at home will into their mid 20s is very common today, if not even longer. I hope for your sake this isn't the case.
Only in the U.S. is it considered a problem if your kids are living with you after highschool. Everywhere else, it's standard.
I was with my folks until I was 24, lol. I don't see a problem with it. Most families don't have the family dynamics to make it work well. I am one of the lucky ones.
Same here. Some people looked at me funny but I was able to save a good bit of money before I got married doing this. A lot of the issue you see these days with kids living with parents into their 20s (and 30s) is that they aren't working towards anything meaningful if working at all. They're just bumming. I was planning to continue saving up until 27ish to buy my first home in cash (I live in Mississippi so housing isn't that expensive). Ended up getting married instead and used that money as down payment on a home plus some remodeling.
@Tim_G Mississippi isn't so bad if you're in the right place. I've been to other states that seemed MUCH more backwoods than where I'm from.

Never even understood why short selling was legal.
I certainly dont listen to people that do that as their sole source of income.
That webpage is worse than one of those click bait articles on MSN i click accidentally sometimes when Edge opens.Stock markets exist for speculation. If you think shorting is bad google "scalping futures".
I think that's bold. Does speculation occur in the stock market? Yes. Are derivatives of the market such as options, futures, etc. speculative? Yes. To say they EXIST for speculation though I'm not sure I agree with. I think if purchasing stock in a company is "speculative" then so is purchasing real-estate for the purpose of renting it out. So is buying into a franchise restaurant. There's a difference between an investment and speculation (although sometimes this line is somewhat blurry).

RE: Notorious Short-seller labels Ubiquiti Networks $UBNT as FRAUD
@momurda Short selling is an EXTREMELY risky business, but it can potentially come with great reward as well. Although I've not personally shorted a stock/industry/market as of date, I have played with some strategies in the past using fake accounts and had success. I mean how else am I supposed to make money off of $SNAP if I can't short it??

RE: Notorious Short-seller labels Ubiquiti Networks $UBNT as FRAUD
@scottalanmiller Paid to make this stuff up, or just paid to find overvalued stocks and bubbles to catch on the way down when the bubble bursts? I know very little about this guy. This is the first I've heard of him and I understand how short-sellers and pump-and-dumpers work, I'm just wondering if there's any legitimacy to his claim or not.
Personally, I'm in agreement with others that I'll continue using Ubiquiti moving forward as I watch this unfold.

RE: Notorious Short-seller labels Ubiquiti Networks $UBNT as FRAUD
My next question being if you believe there's a possibility this could be true, how does this affect your decision-making for future projects where you would previously have gone Ubiquiti without hesitation? Will you now look elsewhere or stick to them until more info arrives?

RE: Korora Desktop Rollcall
A little late to the party, but I've finally settled on Korora as my distro of choice on my home laptop. Linux newbie here so I went with Mint initially as it preached stability and was most popular. It was good, but I wanted more. Love the cinnamon interface of Korora with the base of Fedora. Looking forward to running it for a while and seeing how stable it is in the long run.

To be clear, this isn't about their products being bad, just that some apparently are finding it hard to believe the numbers. I'm still working through link 2 at the moment, but wanted to see what others thought as well.

RE: Fitness and Weightloss
If I'm doing a bodybuilding.com plan, I'll just use the app they provide and load that plan into my account. If I'm designing my own, I use JEFIT. You can create multiple workout programs and load the one you're currently using. I listen to music while I workout and you can create a timer between sets, and it'll beep into your headphones when you've reached a minute. I've been using the app for a couple of years now and it suits my needs.
