      I found this setting, which is applicable to at least Win 10 and Server 2016

      However, it restricts admins from performing updates.

      I configured the following GPO setting to disable standard users from being able to receive update notifications. However, after seeing that it wasn't working, I noticed that the supported on details show 2012 R2 as the last supported version.

      Azure AD > Monitoring > Sign-ins: to track unauthorized access to accounts. There's no telling what all they did, so it may be best to back up the data and recreate the account... and of course enable 2FA/MFA on ALL accounts.

      This is a good idea. You can also set alerts to be notified if forwarding rules are created like the ones you discovered.

      Small update - something else to consider changing - disable Fast Boot.

      Fast Boot means when you restart the computer, it doesn't do a full shutdown. It's likely that counters that are often reset upon a full reboot, aren't reset on a Fast Boot.

      Fast boot used to be called hibernation. It is a fucking stupid nasty feature

      Interesting. But, they also still have hibernation.

      Easy to fix that - admin CMD window -> powercfg -hibernate off

      I meant, they still have a separate function for hibernate. Why would they offer both, if they are the same thing?

      @wrx7m

      Just curious, when you chose UPD, did you choose to store all settings or just certain folders?

      Some applications don't play nicely with roaming profiles.

      UPDs mount at the usual C:\Users\user.name and the applications can't tell a difference.

      Right. But, only when the user is logged in. After they logout, that path doesn't exist. I am trying to figure out how to work around that for adding the custom (for each user) erp shortcut on their desktop in their session.

      Thanks. That one talks a lot about roaming profiles. There is a post that deals with some bat files copying stuff at login. I will look more into that to see if it can do what I need.

      @coliver Right, bitwarden.

      I am.

      And, how do you like it?

      I like it a lot. It does everything I need it to do.

      I am currently using keepass (have been for like 15 years). I store the db on dropbox and have it sync to all my systems and phone.

      This is a horribly unworkable solution for mass adoption. It works for knowledgeable people only.

      I completely agree. This is just my personal config and am always looking for something better. I would never deploy this to an org.

      I have 3 domains and 2 sites with a weird redirect issue. DomainA1.com redirects to DomainA2.com using cloudflare page rules and a 301 redirect. However, it ends up at DomainB.com. If I go directly to DomainA2.com, the proper site loads.

      The server is the one running cpanel with WP (on CentOS) where both sites and all 3 domains are pointed. Where should I look to figure out why DomainA1.com goes to DomainB.com?

      Search everywhere DomainA1.com is configured in some way, and see if DomainB.com appears there by name or IP. Without knowing more, idk. Using a reverse proxy on the server? .htaccess redirect or rewrite? Lots of possibilities.

      Thanks. I am having the guy who is currently doing our websites take a look at WP to see what is happening.

      As the title indicates, I have a new RDS Server (2016) where I need to migrate the user profiles from the old Server 2008 R2 server to the new one. I decided to go with UPD (user profile disks) and am not sure if there is an easy way to migrate the user profiles.

      Has anyone done this?

      I also need to get everyone logged into the new RDS server to create their UPD profiles. Unless there is a profile migration tool to go from Server 2008 R2 standard profiles to 2016 UPD.

      Ha, no way we will either.

      I have some systems where people had a Windows 7 laptop and a desktop and will only be getting one or the other with Windows 10. So, some are two for one.
