@WLS-ITGuy Are the installs big?
One is. The one server has a 200GB hard drive but is only using 16GB. The other is almost 1TB.

Assuming these are both Linux systems, asides from being 32-bit and 64-bit, maintaining these can't be causing you a huge amount of effort to maintain.
Not really, was just looking at dead space usage and if I could combine them with minimal issues I thought it might not be a bad idea. I can leave them as is.
@DustinB3403 said in Does 64 bit or 32 bit really matter?:
@WLS-ITGuy Are you specifically thinking to switch just because it's 32-bit? What is the driving factor here?
Just trying to see if it would be a viable option based on the issue of not able to get the 32bit lib files needed in Debian9/10.
The other software needs to be upgraded so I was thinking of killing two birds (combining servers/resources) if I could.
If it is best to keep the 64bit server separate then I can do that also.
@scottalanmiller said in Does 64 bit or 32 bit really matter?:
Presumably the OS is 64 bit so shouldnt matter.
OK. Linux servers to start. The 32 bit app requires some 32 bit library stuff that I cannot find for Debian 9/10 so I was thinking I could install on a 32bit and go from there.
I have 2 servers that I was looking combining into one. One of the servers runs a 32 bit application and the other doesn't really matter if it is 32/64 bit.
The question comes up is should I leave the servers alone and separate or could I combine them with little impact?

We've been using it for remote patching. Looking at the paid options for PDQ and the licensed versions of Chocolatey as potential replacements.
Used PDQ for a long time and loved it. Switched ticketing from Spiceworks to ManageEngine's ServiceDesk and got a deal on Desktop Central so now we do all our patching through Desktop Central.
Maybe that isn't the right term but here goes with the explanation.
Our Buildings and Grounds guys would like a simple screen that displays some weather on a single page. Humidity, Temp, Wind, Rainfall, 5 day forecast and a radar if possible.
I have a spare rPi hanging around after upgrading two library catalog machines to rPi4 so I could use those, just not sure where to start on the process.

@fuznutz04 Reinstall?
I hate to say it but I agree. Not because @JaredBusch said it, but because it is the easiest way.
Thanks everyone for the assistance! I forgot that I had disabled the damn thing in the beginning of all this even though I told @dbeato that in a PM.

I went through and made sure no other GPOs have password settings. I have changed the default domain policy minimum age to 1 day
Saved, linked, enforced. Run GPUpdate /force and Checked on the DC:

Which is interesting to know but I guess helps me figure out why they can't change their passwords.
Assuming you don't have grandular password policies enabled - I don't get how anyone could change their passwords in less than 30 days.
Which is the interesting part as I have a screenshot that has my minimum password age at 7 days but that also might be before I upgraded to 2016 server. Who knows, they days blend together now as I get older.

I’ll get the results you’re asking for and this answer as well tomorrow.

When your students first logs in, are they prompted to set their regional date and time?
Yes.

From my experience, BYODs make resetting AD passwords for students a time-waster for IT. You should delegate this to non-IT staff like school librarians and teach them how to use a password reset app like Wisesoft's Password Control (with giving them appropriate permissions like only for students OU, of course) or get your software developer to create a web-based password reset kiosk for students and staff with BYODs.
We've learned since the original post, this is not an AD/OU environment. Your point about 3rd party password control is a great option for domain admins though.....
But those students still have accounts in OP's AD, right? It's only their devices are BYOD.
Yes. The new student (class of 2023) can log into OWA but cannot change the password. Other students (class of 2020, 2021, 2022) can all change their passwords.
Adding to this, all 4 classes are under the same OU

It is an AD environment. The students are created in AD on Server 2016 with Exchange 2016. They just use OWA only. They just don't log in to PCs that are part of the domain.
