Good call. Install Veeam B&R in trial mode, make a full backup to any media you got, even a USB HDD.

Once it all truncates, let your normal backup kick off again.

Surely he has an old server laying around, hell, even leave windows in trial mode, and buy a USB drive that is at least double the databases or more. It is cheaper than a outage i bet.

Besides SAM, quite over there. Who else blogs about IT? I was debating starting a IT Blog/KB since the pain that I endure, I would like to help others out. Like Spiceworks but on a more Proactive level. Working for an MSP, you are thrown at a lot of stuff, even the things the vendor has no documentation on ahem....Teams.....
Wordpress? Worth the extra time writing? More kinda in brain dump mode right now trying to figure it out. Anyone else besides SAM?

Ouch... if you try to rebuild that array and it works (don't hold your breath), I'd go out and buy a ticket to every lottery you can, because you'll never have that kind of luck again.

I had StoreVirtual dual node SAN with 24 4TB drives take 7.5 days to repair without issue or popping another drive. Raid 6 thankfully though.
Edit: Thankfully I got Dev/QA to approve shutting down servers for a week that would not be need to lessen the load. Might have been bad times if I didnt.

mmmmm RAM defraging

I want to ditch cable but I am running into a few questions.
I have been used to using my Roku for Pandora, and Netflix.
I also watch shows on all the 4 major channels. I want to get some sports too, but I can deal with getting them on local with what ever I use for the 4 major networks. I also use the movie channels in my Directv package.
Then when I have family over that wants to watch anything from sports to kids shows, etcc. How do I cater to them?
Will Plex, Sling, and combos of Rokus get me what I need?
I need something to broadcast on my Bedroom, my office, my guest room and my living room.

I already pay for Spotify, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Pandora.
I am paying $160/mo with Directv with the 4 recivers 100+ basic channels and all the movie channels.
Critical news like the weather for hail, I guess I can get through my phone.

I am paying for 18mb internet at $40, and that is the fastest they offer with a single line.
