      ....Chrome is just Chrome...

Chrome is using Blink since last year:

      • Also, http://techcrunch.com/2013/04/03/google-forks-webkit-and-launches-blink-its-own-rendering-engine-that-will-soon-power-chrome-and-chromeos/

Thanks for the links: It seems my retention for odd information but not remembering when it was relevant.

From the techcrunch article: "In an unusual move – and after a lot of back and forth between the KHTML team and Apple – Apple announced in 2005 that it would open source WebKit, and Google then adapted it for its Chrome browser. Interestingly, Google actually used a forked version of WebKit in the early days of Chromium but later reconciled its fork with the rest of the project."

    • RE: Standing Desks

I had a standing desk for about 3 months and I really thought it great for a while. When I moved offices I went back to a regular desk. I would like to try an adjustable desk,

Stopped playing console games a few years back. I occasionally play Warzone tower defense from MindJolt, and a few Android games.

Thanks to SAM for the invite. I bowl, shoot pool, drink dark beer and sing karaoke, any karaoke singers here?

    • RE: End User home router suggestions?

We've provided our consumer clients with Netgear routers and wireless adapters since 2003.

My techie friends (non-it peeps) love the Asus routers, but I haven't tried any myself.

    • RE: Block XP from the internet

I appreciate all the information folks. I knew there was many virtual ways to do this, including moving the program and data to the W7 PC using XP Mode.

However when I say cheap, they have budgeted less than $60 which was why I was looking to block access to the internet from the XP box. They have already been using RDP to access the program on the XP PC via the local network for the last 2 years.

    • RE: HTML code help

@scottalanmiller LOL, I was only correct about Safari. Reading what you said about FF an Chrome made me smh! Since there are times I have had to write CSS differently for FF and Chrome! Thanks for pointing out my misinformation!

    • RE: HTML code help

Weird as I understand it, webkit is what Safari, FF and Chrome are built with. I feel your pain and wish you good luck! Glad to see you got a fix!

    • RE: Block XP from the internet

Other great ideas out there, however the client is looking for cheap. So either i disable the PC from accessing the internet or she brings in a monitor and uses the PC off the network. Sometimes my extremely small business stress me out!

Dash, that was my 2nd solution (W7 XP Mode), however 1st solution was to update the software and move it to existing W7 PC.

Sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to the challenge in finding the answer!

<rant> I really dislike programmers who ignore the rest of the browsers. It's called standards, and of all the browsers, IE is the worst offender. In a world with iDevices, Androids you can't expect them to use IE, as it's not available!</rant>

Bill, thanks. I saw i could block the MAC but that also blocked the PC from the network. Thanks for the firewall tip!

Thanks for your tip PSX_Defector. The client doesn't have a VPN and is not looking to spend much money. Hopefully Bill's tip will work out!

    • RE: Who uses what Web Browser and Why

The computer nut in me loves Google Chrome for its: Speed, availability of viewed pages on ALL devices, and awesome extensions I can't live without (Awesome Screen Shots, Evernote web clipper, BuiltWith, Google Play Music, Page Color Picker and others)

The WordPress/Web Designer in me only uses Firefox. It's the best browser for designing and debugging HTML/CSS using Firebug.

For Android, I use Chrome, BUT Dolphin (+Flash app) allows me to watch Amazon Prime on my Asus TF101. Also I purchased Puffin browser app which gives me the best desktop web experience and good speed!

    • RE: HTML code help

Since your are trying to get one result with different browsers, you will have to either do as SAM says or add more CSS code per browser.

It would be easier to provide support if we had a link to view the actual page (I would use Firefox with Firebug).

    • Block XP from the internet

I am looking to keep an XP machine running for 6 months longer (so client claims). If possible I would like the client to be able to log into the box viaRDP while preventing the XP machine from accessing the internet.
