Thanks guys for all the input.

RE: License Compliance Software/tools
So, if we provide outside contractors with Office on our RDP server, we have to provide them with software that is on their PC or a license delegated to their PC? I presume the same goes for virtual PC's or Thin Clients?

RE: Spec'ing a new workstation rig for my office
@alexntg
I was also looking to make my "desktop" a VM as well running on Hyper-V. I wanted to be able to test out backing up VM's and other cool stuff I read on ML. -
RE: So Many Beers. So Little Time......
My friend has been trying to get me to expand my beer horizons. I had 2 new beers this weekend, a Cigar City Brewing Humidor Series India Pale Ale (tastes little citusy like grapefruit) and a Cigar City Brewing Invasion Pale Ale. I loved them both and would get them again. Have to try more as I only have 20 under my belt!

RE: Random Thread - Anything Goes
Glad to see someone else liked Iron Sky...makes me want to watch Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow again!

RE: Hosted EHR outage
A doctor was reading what was required of him for documentation and basically said that it was too much information to give and he should decide what is necessary to document. I also heard office staff whine that they would actually have to provide vital signs for visits.

RE: Hosted EHR outage
Ironically small one doctor practices have complained that EHRs are not setup for the way they run their practice. Too hard to too much time needed to make it as easy a using a paper chart. The disturbing part was the argument that 50% of what the EHR was supposed to document is not normally done by the doctors, so why should they have to change the way to do business.

RE: Send Control Characters in VMware Consoles
Damn! @JaredBusch, I will be using that weekly now! I use Remote Desktop Connection Manager to connect to my clients office and from there I run that program on the server so can remote into any box "locally". There are times where I could have used the on screen keyboard. Thanks for the tip!

RE: Sugru- An amazing product
I thought it looked cool and then went on my day. Yesterday I saw something and was like, if I had some Sugru I could fix that in a jiff! HA...howdy neighbor, can I borrow some Sugru? LOL!

Awesome! Assuming she said yes, of course.
That is twice I forgot to say she said yes! LOL

RE: Random Thread - Anything Goes
My wife and son watch Fraiser all the time, I believe this is the 3rd time they are running though the series. I just watched Iron Sky, which was mildly entertaining!

RE: License Compliance Software/tools
@scottalanmiller who would be best to ask about split licensing on RDP?

RE: Why Community Beats Support
As a small business IT provider I have found proprietary software to be troublesome. You must pay for support for any help via phone, email or web portal. There is no "Googling" for support either. Support for the products is not fast, and very generic. I have heard: well it works on our test machines; turn off the UAC and run as administrator; only for IE7 (I heard that one last year); not for W7 (W7 SP2 was what new PC's had at the time). One company's software has a little better support but in 2 years about 80% of the software upgrades are due to the clients requests (expected behavior of the product).

RE: Office 365 calendars
I have found what @Nara says to be true. OWA is not the same as Outlook, really close, but no cigar.

RE: Weekend Plans
Hosted karaoke at a local bar for my friend last night (he was sick). Had a regular sing to his girlfriend and then proposed to her!

RE: License Compliance Software/tools
Well I need to address quickly. I have no idea how long they have been using it this way. And if the was a MS audit, any oops still cost you I bet!

RE: Random Thread - Anything Goes
Watched Evolver on Netflix this morning. I could see a remake of this movie!
