      Does ctrl+break work?

I wish I could help more; I'm in ESXi all the time, but not in Linux. Ctrl+C isn't really used much in modern Windows.

Sadly in all UNIX it is extremely common and is an expected control sequence along with Ctrl+D and Ctrl+Z.

I neither have Windows nor a GUI. Just a BASH session that expects Control-C to be available.

    • Send Control Characters in VMware Consoles

I run into this regularly. You are working along and you don something simple like start a ping on Linux which requires a control-c to stop while working in a VMware console. But there is no way to send a control-c. How do you break free?

    • RE: LVM Frozen After Deleting Block Device

      Sweet, that worked!

      Need to:

      • Use LVM tools to remove the settings.
      • Use dmsetup to remove the underlying devices.
      • Manually delete the leftover lines in the cache.

      No reboot even needed. Thanks!

No additional ideas? I'm kind of stumped.

I tried that, it removed the device and I rebooted but lvs is still hanging 😞

    • LVM Frozen After Deleting Block Device

So I accidentally deleted the block device (by using fdisk) that LVM was using. Now if I run an LVM command, like lvs, it just sits there, frozen. I tried using lvremove, vgremove and pvremove but each says that there is no associated device. I'm not sure how to get the association with LVM removed so that the LVM commands will work properly again. Thanks.
