RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@scottalanmiller well, congratulations. What's the name of the hotel? Is it 'street view-able'?

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@scottalanmiller you bought a hotel! Most people just buy a caravan.

@scottalanmiller Ah yes. Just got onto the console with Mesh Central.
Still don't have an account to log in with though.

Re-add Server/Computer to AD
So I renamed a server & joined it to Active Directory using the name of a server already in AD.
This had the effect of removing/hiding the original server, which has just sat their doing its thing while this went on.
Now however I can't log into it with a domain account (I can't remember any local login accounts).
I re-created the original server account in AD via ADUC and can see that the servers object USN lists an original and a current USN, so I'm assuming AD remembers the object and has updated it.
I can't log into the server to reboot it, so have waited longer than an hour and still cannot log into it with a domain account (think you have to wait 51 minutes for AD updates / resyncs).
This server is remote, up high, heavy and headless, so I'd really like to fix this remotely.
Thanks for any help.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@eddiejennings nope you're not. I often start typing a question and the problem becomes clearer as I type & I end up solving the mystery myself.
It's a very useful thing to do, while typing you're focusing on the problem more than just thinking about it.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
got asked if I could get some data off a 3.5" floppy yesterday.
thought about it and thought, if it's on a 3.5" floppy then the info can't be too important, otherwise it would have already been transferred onto something else. Also thought, if the data is only on that then there's a very good chance the data isn't what they think it is.
Sorry, can't help.

anyone know of any print servers that can convert usb printers to ethernet?
I can only find a TP Link model down here. Think I used to use a DLink model but don't seem to make 'em any more.
