So we just got our new AT&T (yuck) 300/300 fiber circuit installed... and the dumbass tech wrote out the wireless password incorrectly for me. He very distinctly put upper and lower case letters (all were actually lower case), plus his 'q' looked like a 'g', the 'S' looked like a '5', etc. Had to go remove the modem from the wall to get the correct info from it. All sorted now, but jeez...

If not to much trouble,.. go photograph it. Get that and the MAC address.

Oh, I went and got all the codes and numbers off the device... except the MAC address (d'oh!). Oh yeah, check out this lovely speed test result...

This bugs me so much that I actually posted on FB about it, with some links to ML posts. So now I have a pic of @scottalanmiller 's face on my FB wall.

I can, but I still have a life, dog and girl to spend time with.

I've never had any trouble drinking while living, or while spending time with dog or girl. You gotta multitask.

I'm not certain it wouldn't work with a different utility Disk2VHD is pretty old if I recall.

Disk2VHD is old, but it has always worked for me moving stuff to Hyper-V. Best way to find out is to test it.

Hooray, our phones just took a big crap... can't dial in or out. This antique Cisco garbage must know we are moving to a hosted system soon and decided to break today.... if anyone has a brilliant idea to try, I'm willing to throw the hail mary pass at this point.

    • RE: Wifi extenders

@wrcombs sounds like interference or plaster/wire mesh walls. Get 2x Ubiquiti APs, run some CAT6, get the wireless signal more evenly and effectively spread around the home.

Using "extenders" or "repeaters" will drastically reduce the available speed, new access point(s) will be the best solution.

Use PDQ Deploy, no .msi needed. It will push installs via .exe files and you can add any command switches you need.

I'm ready for Thursday.... we put 8.5lbs of brisket in the brine last night for corned beef. There will also be cabbage and potatoes, as is the custom of my people. And whiskey.

Certification is pricey, but a $15 tester will show whether or not the run is going to work. Crimp it, test it, move on to the next one.

No more squid for me... ever.

That just means that it is really fresh.

I like my food fresh... but also don't want it trying to escape while I am eating it, lol.

When I lived in Clearwater FL, we would always get live shrimp for bait. After a day of zero bites, we had a delicious lunch of grilled shrimp... yep, we seasoned the little bastards and tossed them on the grill alive. #freshness
