...and thanks for the kind words about our Powershell session! Martin and I love doing it and would enjoy doing a tool building session (like SAM said, a logic flow toward solving a problem).

RE: SpiceWorld 2014
I ended up walking out of the VMWare sponsored DR session. It was a few slides of terminology relating to DR, and the rest was VMWare stuff specifically. I was hoping for more of a high-level overview, but alas, I should have known...

RE: AetherStore
This one stuck out as well for me. I'm going to look into trying this out.
For that matter, I could see this offloading some non-critical IT-related stuff (ISO's, etc.) across a bunch of our LAN computers to recoup some server space. Looks very cool indeed.

We use Websense (unfortunately) - is something that is done from the Websense software or would we submit it another way?
If you have a Websense account, you should be able to email in MangoLassi's URL to the email address listed higher up in the thread. It's just an email address, nothing more. It only accepts from customers though, hence the issue. Give it a try, at worst you get a rejection email.
Submitted - got an actual case # (seems tedious), let's see what happens next.

RE: Alternatives to Spiceworks for hardware & software auditing
@Rob-Dunn
For a poor-man's inventory, you can use Open-Audit, it's all web and script based. It's not been updated in years, but it might do what you want.AND it has a Linux package (and appliance download!)

I know SolarWinds has some tools that are popular, but they will spam the heck out of you, so beware.
Wait a second... what do you mean they will spam the heck out of you? I use Solarwinds Orion, Solar Winds Network Monitor, and Solar Winds Web Help Desk. I rarely receive emails from them
Probably because you already drank the Kool-Aid. It's the *potential *customers they want.

Good cleanup practice. All the mods are skimping on their duties to check in on the abandoned threads.
YOU'RE AN ABANDONED THREAD, SCOTT ALAN MILLER

@Rob-Dunn , you should totally up your posting here once you hit PC over there. We could use someone of your caliber here.
Will do!

I don't. I just keep track. I've actually asked that the system be removed repeatedly.
But only after I get 7,885 points.
It's a fun distraction for me.

I noticed that on the daily report. You are very, very close. Do you plan to immediately stop posting and completely disappear like the last two who made it?
It should be called the "Recluse Reward" as everyone who makes it just vanishes.
I will definitely drop off activity-wise, but not disappear. My plan is to return back to focusing on more AD and Powershell stuff...but...with that said, the new job allows me a heckuva lot more time to hang out and answer questions...

@Rob-Dunn , I knew about Yasaf. That's why I was surprised by you overtaking him. I thought you were in the 180K range. He never posts anymore. He just gets points from reports and plugins now.
He does post (he posted yesterday)...just not really in quantity.
I have a lot of scripts, plugins, and for awhile, I was killing on referrals. That's what really shot me up there.
Right now, it's mostly BA's in the Spiceworks support thread. Since I know the app so well, I can rattle them off pretty quickly without breaking up my workday. Once I hit PC, I'll roll back and post more frequently in the Powershell and AD groups.
