My main meeting practice is meditation to control my growing frustration at seeing people sit around blathering

RE: Got Best Speaker at Toastmasters Dual-Meetup Today!
Congrats! Glad to hear that topic ended up being one that the audience related to.

RE: Review of Webroot - ThanksAJ.com Review of the Week!
Nice, glad to see you get good coverage!

RE: Join.me - now just as useless as the rest of the LogMeIn product line
Does the other person have to sign up too? I thought it was only the person initiating the meeting.

RE: Join.me - now just as useless as the rest of the LogMeIn product line
You can, but it just adds a layer of annoyance. Also whenever you use the free service now, they keep giving you "complimentary" pro features, in an effort to get you to sign up for the paid version. Just your typical effort to increase conversion. I'm sure it works, but at the cost of being a pain in the ass. Guess we can't complain since it is still free.

Yeah, it made me do it last time I used it. At least the process was pretty painless, but now they shower me with marketing emails.

RE: Gigabyte projector and computer in one
I saw one of these at LANFest Seattle a few months back. I thought it was just a projector until they told me it has a PC in it as well. The projector isn't that bright, as you'd expect for a small form factor, but certainly enough for a presentation in a regular sized room with the lights off.

Reminds me of one of my favorite Simpsons quotes:

RE: Facebook doing away with annoying requests to send friends gift cards
My bet is that Starbucks et al weren't making enough money to cover what they were paying Facebook for the privilege of getting suggested. Contracts are ending and now FB is scrapping the program.

RE: Netflix and AT&T strike deal to boost streaming speeds
Another hit to net neutrality - AT&T charges you to deliver the data, and charges Netflix to deliver the data. It's as if Amazon paid Fedex to deliver the package, and then you had to pay Fedex to deliver the package.

RE: I need to gain access to my webroot account
And that is a weakness of single char excerpts from security codes. There's no good way to hash those, so they have to be stored in plain text. So make sure you don't reuse that as a PIN elsewhere.

RE: I need to gain access to my webroot account
Yeah, we're looking into two-factor authentication to replace the security code.

RE: I need to gain access to my webroot account
Agreed - we were just talking about that yesterday here in the office. Most people don't setup a portal because we don't make it easy and walk them through it. It's on the list of things to improve

RE: I need to gain access to my webroot account
also, while you might have purchased at that email address, could you have setup your portal account using a different email address? Or not set one up at all?
