Why would anybody ever call american police for help?
Well, you can't call the Mexican police for help.

Preparing to upgrade my hosts from 6.0 and 6.5 to 6.7. Everything is getting upgraded this weekend.
Posting this here for @JaredBusch. I know he'll love it.
Back to waiting on VMware support. Called their support line to talk with an "engineer" and was told that I would be called back. I was never called back. Not too particularly happy right now.
@jmoore People are wanting me to write more advanced articles, but I need to write more basic ones to connect dots for others so it doesn't seem like I am jumping from one interest to another. Just makes it so hard sometimes.

Nextcloud
can you elaborate?
Have a Nextcloud instance somewhere. Download the Nextcloud app to your phone and sign in. Setup the app to automatically backup your photos and other items to your Nextcloud instance. You lose your phone or it dies? No problem.

@dafyre Sometimes I wish that people would pat me on the head and tell me the same things, but that never happens.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/new-mexico-observatory-closure-stemmed-from-fbi-child-porn-probe-documents/ar-BBNzOMQ?ocid=spartanntp
11 day closure of a science lab because a janitor was using their wifi for cp.
Seriously makes no sense, and just fuels thoughts of some sort of coverup.Or, at least, justifies the distrust of the FBI. Catching people getting CP is good, but using that as an excuse to punish an unrelated entity? Clearly either abject incompetence, or competence in nefarious activities.
Totally agree.
First off, if the janitor was watching cp on a government computer, why did they have creds to the network? Doesn't make sense why the janitor would need computer resources. Second, arrest the janitor (no matter what, because cp is illegal whether it was at work or at home) and clean the computer. Supposedly the janitor was on the wifi, and could have been on their personal computer or phone. Some IT person need to be fired because they didn't properly secure the network and the janitor still needs to be arrested. No need in shutting down the observatory.
I've heard all kinds of "theories" from Chinese espionage to the telescope got a glimpse of "the death star" because the death star eclipsed the sun and the earth.
My theory? White sands is an active missile testing range for the military. They were probably testing an experimental rocket and, somehow, the observatory caught a glimpse of the top secret rocket and just it down. This is just a REALLY bad cover up. (In a past life, I once lived in Carlsbad, NM and heard people talk about the missile range while I worked for another government agency.)

It is the standard way for orgs that dont go all in O365/Azure
You get O365 cloud services, but can manage it from your local AD setup.
That is what AADConnect is for.
@wrcombs Boss used his card both times and both times, the hotel wanted the card physically. Didn't matter if you already reserved the rooms ahead of time. It was the 3rd Party form that saved my hide both times.
Power BI training from edX. It could get dryer.
@momurda You're turning a tool that POTUS put in place just because you don't like the person. Sorry you don't like him, but this is just a system. If he abuses the system will be a different story. Separate the person from the position in your mind. Respect the position. You don't have to respect the person.
@obsolesce You do know that there is more than 1 dark theme, right?

Just getting in today, Son gave me his cold that put him out of school last Thursday..
Sharing is caring. Right?
@DustinB3403 Does it? Does it really? I don't think so.
We're working today. Normally Black Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving) is still a working day, but Production is pushing hard to have both that Thursday and Friday off.

OMG, just had a long confusing conversation with a site about "where is our router." Apparently the AT&T tech was there trying to hook up service and install their router. Except, they didn't bring a router and no one shipped us one that we know of.
Hours of follow up later... router was shipped long ago, to a different company. Oops.
I don't order AT&T routers with fiber service. I specifically decline them.
I didn't want to, but there was no cost savings to skipping it.
No but you would have probably had more control over what's going on in your network.
