So I'm setting up an OpenSuse Server, and it has given me a choice between a KDE GUI, or a GNOME GUI. I've heard of KDE, but to be honest, have no idea which one does what. What are some of the features and benefits of each?

RE: Server Startup
So uh, turns out that of the massive stack of servers, the one with the black front is not also the one with the black chassis. One of the simplest mistakes one could make, plugged all the inputs and outputs into the wrong IO. Server is running fine now, thanks guys!

Server Startup
So I'm trying to get an HP DL 185 to run off of a bootable Flash drive, and the server is in perpetual startup phase, around twenty minutes. Anyone have any ideas?

RE: Installing OpenSuse 13.1 On A Server Via USB
I've had a few corruption issues with the download for OpenSuse itself, so it's taken me a bit to get this going.

Unetbootin is wonderful, found it useful for a few other things.

RE: Looking for a Career Path
Thank you for clearing that up. Always heard those terms thrown around, but never actually discerned what it was.

RE: Looking for a Career Path
Thanks! I'll keep those options in mind. Already starting to get networking certifications and such, but I do have a question. This may seem rather naïve or unintelligible, but what exactly is UNIX? OR should that be a something I should ask on the IT thread or google?

Installing OpenSuse 13.1 On A Server Via USB
I'm NTG's Intern, and I've been assigned a project of getting the server lab running some stuff. I've got to get OpenSuse 13.1 on a Linux server, via a USB flash drive, and I was wondering if anyone here knows if I would need to reformat the file from it's standard? And if such is the case, what format would I need to use, and would I need to use third party software to convert it? Any tips, ideas, or constructive criticism would be wonderful, thanks!

Looking for a Career Path
So I'm an intern for Niagara Technology Group, and I'm looking into a full career in IT. Not sure exactly what certifications I want to focus on, or what types of skills I want under my belt, as I don't quite know which field I want to be working in. My idea is to not deal with a lot of customers, but I'm looking for suggestions. Any ideas or opinions from past experiences would be great!
