While that's necessary for it to be serious in any way.... I think we all know that that will never happen. Disney has zero capability to not have every possible character tie in in a Star Wars franchise. You know C3PO and R2D2 are going to pop in from time to time, too.

I think the little things, the tid bits from previous movies/shows is one of the major things that makes the show a good one.
Actually, for me, those are the worst parts. That's one of the things I like least in the Star Wars universe is the constant nods to nostalgia instead of stuff being original or standing on its own. Obviously I want a consistent universe, but I can't stand key characters popping up and doing cameos in every scenario. Yeah, and that is why I said it. I hope the rumors are wrong. You're completely right about TFA. It was the worst SW movie since Ep 2. Then Rian Johnson said, "Hold my beer", and we have TLJ. I don't have any hope for Rise of something something.

My conclusion about the Mandalorian: very few would think it very good if it were not sharing a timeframe with TLJ. It is cute, very meme-able, and has next to zero story or progression. From what you've said, you're watching the show because it is Star Wars and it has fan service. Not trying to pick a fight here, just finding it funny. I am in the same camp for the most part.
Are you saying it's not great? and in doing so perhaps thinking you're picking a fight? lol no reason to think that.
I haven't said it's great - I said I'm enjoying it... it's definitely not great - I wouldn't call it slow if it was great.
I am saying it isn't great. My comment about not starting a fight is because I have seen too many discussions go from zero to "you're an idiot" way faster than I expected them to.
You can try Apple Configurator and see if that gets you where you need to go, but Apple goes through these cycles of not supporting it. There are several free MDM solutions out there. They will have different things locked behind paywalls, so they may or may not get you to where you want to go.
And it is a cultural phenomenon. There are very few people who don't know anything about Baby Yoda at this point even if they have never watched the show.

Isn't Kevin Feige developing a new “Star Wars” movie for Disney. With him, I he'll probably use some of the source material from the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
I hope so. I am hopeful that the success of the Mandalorian (assuming they continue with a coherent story) contrasts well with eps 7-9 and they learn a lesson and allow people who want to actually tell Star Wars stories lead.

I don't necessarily think this was your intention, but it does look odd to remove from the more popular thread input that you don't appear to agree with.
And there are many of us who follow the thread that don't care about what the three of you are wrangling over.
So you lose 1-5 posts. Is that worth destroying an existing topic? I understand waiting a while, but the Misc Tech News thread is basically shut down for what it is intended for. If I post a news item it will be swamped by the current back and forth.
So...how about some Miscellaneous Tech News instead of arguing? Can this be forked out?
I might end up with a 6 day weekend for the price of one sick day. We may have a snow day tomorrow. I'm taking a sick day on Wednesday, Thursday is Thanksgiving, and Friday they're giving us off for the first time in the history of the org.
