I'm trying to put together a pitch for our executives/City Council to persuade them to increase our spending on Cybersecurity by 50%. If any of you all have good resources to point me to it would be welcome.

I was hanging out with some 20 somethings last night and one of them was sharing that they watched a movie with his fiancee's family called "...uh...7 brides for...um 7 brothers?" I realized just how old I am.
LOL. To be fair, that movie is old to you, too. Our generation just tended to watch older movies as a matter of course and millennials tend to avoid classic movies most of the time.
It was just one of those, "I'm old enough to be your dad" moments.

RE: Domain Trust, VPN, Remote workers
Thanks for the reply @JaredBusch. I'm getting push back from the server team on my ask for this. They feel like it would introduce some insecurity into the system, but I'm not sure I understand the risks.

Domain Trust, VPN, Remote workers
Here is the problem:
We have a large number of people working remotely now (like everyone else). Organizationally we are in a transition between being engineered towards the LAN and having cloud based tools. What this means is that our AD is not fully accessible to remote users without VPN. But, a chunk of users can do their job without needing to use the VPN. For the short term are there any concerns that you all would have about changing (assuming we can, haven't dug in that far yet) the expiration of the machine account/password?I know this is not the best answer. I'm just trying to buy time before we can get some tooling implemented to fix the underlying management problem.

Warrior Nun on Netflix.
It was fun. Pretty light (despite the violence and gore). Not a deep, provocative, thoughtful show. Worth a watch, but I'm not raving about it.

RE: L2 network head scratcher, losing pings to Management VLAN
Given that you're seeing intermittent service you probably have a dual routing issue. If you can use pathping or traceroute to determine the paths that your traffic is taking that might give you some visibility into how your traffic is flowing. If you haven't already pruned it, I would remove all of the routes off the 3750 if possible.

Why not just use Firefox? They have a dedicated password manager now, and it is higher quality than the password storage features in Chrome and the like.
Unless the user is using Firefox sync, if the hard drive crap out or their Windows profile, they will lose all their passwords.
Based on the OPs description they would have to be using FF sync, if it was on the table, to meet the requirements.

I watched Space Force last night. After all the negative reviews I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't as funny as The Office, I enjoyed it. I like that there wasn't as much pure cringe coming out of Steve Carrell.

Found a mod that breathes new life into Civ V. So I'm doing that now. (Vox Populi if you're curious)

Borderlands free on Epic.
With all these free games from Epic. I'm definitely going to need to keep a Windows PC around.
Yeah, they release a lot of GOOD stuff. It's
impressiveexpensive.FTFY
This business model seems unsustainable.

Was supposed to have a meeting with Altaro this morning and those ass hats only will talk via Teams. And Teams Web is disabled. So I got up early for a meeting that it doesn't even let me join because they can't afford an IT to know how to pick a professional tool. It's not like this stuff isn't free. Using Teams internally is pathetic, but whatever. Pushing it as an external tool and blocking the use of it via a web page is unprofessional to the extreme.
Thankfully after a bit of back and forth, the tech involved was willing to hop over to a web based tool and we were able to get into the meeting.
all of your own personal opinions beside - Have you used Teams on the web? It's aweful. I'm not surprised they have to disabled for possibly mutliple reasons - 1) it's aweful, 2) might be a security situation, Administration might not want people sharing Teams with outside entities. (this is only a possibility/Guess)
I might be the only person on ML that doesn't mind Teams.
I don’t mind it.
I use Teams very heavily. There are things that it could do better. Just like other tools have gaps as well. It is a tool and it does most of what I need it to.

Starting a fresh Ark server this weekend. Everyone starting this weekend gets 20 levels of xp (0-20 granted) and a free perfect tame dino from my RNG tool.
DM me here or (for better response) on twitter, @GreySysAdmin, or Discord @uskaanax#2213, if you want to join up. We'll have at least 3 maps in a cluster.
According to leaks ARK is going to be a future freebie on the Epic Store.

I am getting pretty adept at skipping to the end of the intro though using the +10 button in Hulu.
An anime opening sequence is 1:30 always. So that part is easy. The recaps being random is rough.
MHA is also annoying because they sometimes have actual content before the opening and sometimes after the credits, but before the preview. And sometimes the pre-opening content is just recap.

My Hero Academia
One of my kids' favourites.
I watched a bunch of those but caught up to where there were no more. I'll have to find out if I can get caught up.
It would be awesome if there was a superedit that removed all the credits, recaps and BS thats's a relic from OTA watching.
It is not a relic from OTA. It is intentional to produce less new animation but still fill a time slot.
I had surmised that might be part of it, too. In any case, I'm going to catch up and then get S04 once it's completed.
What is frustrating with it from a steaming environment is that there is no "Skip Intro" button because the intro moves all over the place in the episode. I am getting pretty adept at skipping to the end of the intro though using the +10 button in Hulu.

More than half of elderly Covid-19 victims in Sweden have died in care homes.
Sweden, with 10m inhabitants, has kept more of society open than is the case in most of Europe.
I had wondered how Sweden's approach to handling Covid-19 was working since they took a different approach compared to the rest of the world. Their death rate (based on the numbers the BBC reports in that article) is about 0.04%.
Most of the deaths were nursing home deaths due to bad handling in just that single aspect. It's no way reflective of "how the whole thing was handled".
I'm not criticizing any aspect of the deaths or how they've handled anything. I don't know enough. I've been more curious how their approach to handling things was going to work compared to the rest of the world's "Let's shut everything down" plan. Their infection rate appears to be rather low based on what is listed here: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries.
~30,000 cases out of 10,000,000 people is pretty low based on what experts were telling us would happen.
What's really needed is a number of completed tests to get a more accurate picture. You can't report on cases if you don't test, and misattributing deaths is not only easy, but happening on purpose.
I'm guessing that with Sweden's medical system that they probably have better data than the US. Could be wrong on that one. Maybe @Obsolesce would have a better perspective?
