Damn. Wish I saw that sooner. I installed 19.04 first though, but I need to try that next time.

Don't look at old versions at all, keep solely to current. If current doesn't work, and somehow old ones do, you are screwed anyway long term.

Well yeah, that's why first thing I did was grab the 19.04. I spent by far the most amount of time trying to get that to work.
Could be the laptop hardware, maybe HP Omens are more difficult to make work for Linux. Very briefly looked into that, but came up empty.

Fired up the game again, "Your video card is not supported or drivers are not installed" something like that.
      I thought, oh no problem.

Did you allow Ubuntu to deploy third party packages during the install process? It should have picked up the Nvidia stuff at that time.

Yes! I followed what you said and ticked the box.
It sucks, I tried really hard and for a long while to get this going.
I'm disappointed, but I'll get this working eventually. It's just on my main computer so...I wanted to play some Warhammer badly haha.

Unlike the bastardized step child that is Ubuntu

      LOL

Well, it is..... According to me.

Some day something might happen the requires me to switch lots of things to Ubuntu, but I doubt it.

Yes, my feelings towards Ubuntu are from when they didn't do thigns as smooth as they do now.

Yeah whenever I try again, soon, I definitely want to try it with Fedora. Just seemed so clean and fast.
I'll disable secure boot as well.
Thank you for your input, I have yet to use Cinnamon, though I've tried many others.
Hah, if I have issues with the damned driver, I'll post here.
No matter what, I'd love to try something new, different and as customizable as Linux full-time. Windows is great, but as we all are well aware, it's bloated. Not to mention telemetry and Microsoft selling our information.

@black3dynamite UEFI is enabled and I did get numerous prompts to set a password for the linux version of secure boot.
This happened nearly every time I would install or reinstall a driver.

I've never messed with the bios on this particular laptop, never needed to.
But do you think or suspect secure boot being an issue?

I don't know. Just noticed this
      https://www.linuxbabe.com/ubuntu/install-nvidia-driver-ubuntu-18-04
      345b8077-26da-480a-8b10-5ffd656807dd-image.png

And another thing I forgot to asked. With your Fedora install, were you using Fedora Workstation (GNOME3)? Because by default it uses Wayland instead Xorg for its display server. And from what I've read tell Nvidia doesn't play nice when using Wayland.

Damn. Wish I saw that sooner. I installed 19.04 first though, but I need to try that next time.
I'll disable Secure boot and try again one of these days.

      I used this: https://getfedora.org/en/workstation/download/
      Workstation 30

I suppose it would be boring if Thor just beheads Thanos a second time, but I think I'd prefer it, then they could just be shown fighting that massive army.

From the first Iron Man movie that ended up kicking off a 10 year journey. And with Avengers, Iron Man 3, AofU, Infinity War and Endgame. It was always about Thanos and Tony Stark. At least that's how I see it.

I'm going to go back and watch all the movies again one of these weekends.

Endgame brought out a lot of "I remember that" moments from me because of the previous films.

It's just been too long for me. I was like, "Who is that dude?" "Wtf are they talking about?"
Lmao..............yeah definitely need to re-watch some movies...

Speaking of Tony, Iron Man, couldn't the Hulk put the glove on and heal Tony? Or perhaps rewind time like Thanos did when he killed Jarvis, he could have prevented his death then.

Hulk was physically and mentally weak from the snap he did to bring everyone who snapped back. Not sure gauntlet was even available to try. Can't rewind time because that will also bring back thanos and his army.

I didn't realize Hulk was that bad, especially since he was lifting hundreds of thousands of pounds of concrete after they were fired on 😛
Nah but yeah that makes sense, the stones obviously take an enormous toll on both mind and body.

      Thanks black, appreciate the feedback.

Captain Marvel, she flew through a ship and destroyed it in 5 seconds, ship likely has the diameter of a mile, yet she gets tossed around effortlessly by Thanos...Duuuuuuuuuumb.

That was some fan service teaser of her powers. Just like what happen when Superman showed up kicking ass at the end of Justice League.

Plus Thanos sucker punched her using the power stone.

      Yeah of course.
Yeaaaaaaaah...plus they have to make it cinematic.

I was able to suspend my disbelief right up until the "Female Heroic Pose Before We Save Spiderman" moment. That was so artificially set up. I enjoyed the rest of the movie, and I do my best to not think about things too hard.

Just another one of those fan service teaser. A-Force teamup scene.

I'm generally fine with fan service, but that was such a jarring moment in the narrative flow. To go from "we're fighting for our lives against a powerful enemy that has all of us engaged" to "let's get every single female (many of whom didn't even have more than one line if any at all) into a single camera shot to pose for the audience" was more than my suspended disbelief could take.

But they have to be "woke".

Disappointing to see Thor go through all the adversity he went through in his movies and other Avengers movies, only to be portrayed as some coward in this last movie.

Well for starter he was a spoiler little brat who was sent away by his father without his hammer and powers. Lost his mother. Lost his father, Lost an eye. Hammer destroyed and Asgard and most of his people destroyed. More asgardians died, Loki died, Heimdall died, got his ass handled by Thanos the first time they met. Failed at killing him before the snap.

I don't know about you but that would make anyone depressed.

But he's not human...regardless, great point.

No, you are just whining. Because you did not pay enough attentions to things.

Chris Evan's is a chump and Thor could have easily re-removed Thanos's head in 2 seconds. Lol.

I do have a question though, so captain america's shield, I thought that particular metal (Can't recall the name atm) was indestructible, but Thanos's sword is able to chop it up.

As for Capt throwing the hammer - what didn't you like about that? The ability to wield the hammer is about goodness of person, not strength... so I buy Capt using the Hammer.

Also it was very obviously made known that he would use the hammer at some point way back in Avengers: Age of Ultron when he made it move.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh really? I'll have to re-watch that movie or at least that part.

I've only seen the movie once, back when it was just released - and while the Thor scene/whole body BS did thoroughly over the top. Has Thor seriously never been defeated before? This since defeat tossed him into a great depression that caused him to become a 'fat gamer'? - just dumb. But I didn't see him becoming a coward - I might have to rewatch the movie.

As for Capt throwing the hammer - what didn't you like about that? The ability to wield the hammer is about goodness of person, not strength... so I buy Capt using the Hammer.

Captain Marvel - Let's just call her what she is - Marvel's superman. Supposedly she's strong enough to take out Thanos on her own - soooo why didn't she?

As for the glove - yeah I can barely remember that part of the movie - definitely need to see it again.

Yes I know, the hammer chooses it's wielder. I just thought since Thor is the friggin' god of thunder and is full of "goodness" only he could wield it. OH wait shoot, Thanos at some point actually picks the damned thing up lol.
Just remembered that, THAT was weird, how was Thanos able to pick the darn thing up?
      It was just odd.
Good movie yeahhhh, but some annoyances. Though I am probably just nitpicking.
