Hello all
My name is Jason Burnett and I have been working in IT in one way or another since I was in 5th Grade. To give you an idea how old I am, my third (3rd) computer was a Ti99-4a. I just missed the punchcard programming days (thank goodness), but I was around for the Beagle Brother's, for ProDos, for the Apple II, etc.
I spend a great deal of my time supporting law firms with presentation materials, networking, video conferencing, etc. I am not a big fan of certifications because I figure anyone can study hard enough and pass a test. That doesn't say anything about their knowledge of the subject.
I don't really think of myself as 45 years old (just turned on October 3), but more and more I find myself making claims like: "when I was a kid, we didn't even have the internet..." Who knew I would get curmudgeonly in my old age?
Thanks to Scott Alan Miller for inviting me to this service. It seems much more friendly and laid back than some of the other services like it. Kudos for that.
Best wishes,
jase
