Mistakes were made Friday when I left work - I didn't grab my laptop charger, but I grabbed my Laptop with a full battery.. After a weekend of helping with 10 minute calls / etc - I woke up to about 2" of snow - a van that doesn't drive well on dry streets- I'm not comfortable driving it 30 minutes across town in snow plus not being able to leave the neighborhood, and not enough gas in the "safer vehicle" from running around for everyone while they were out of town.

Opted to work from home today noticed laptop was down to 50% and thought I should plug it in... Oh well. Lesson learned I suppose - always grab the charger.

Laptop officially died. Clocked out, waiting on my boss to call me back so I can explain.

Oops..

‍️ Oh well.

I should add - I forgot my charger a few months back. I was lucky enough that the laptop was USB-C and I had a USB-C cable and supply at home. it was a fifty power power supply - but it let me run all day regardless...

Why fifty pounds? It's a portable battery / inverter ...

Wow, that's crazy. It has been quite a long time.

Eight years.... that's when I joined. July 2014. That is just crazy. I am glad I have along for the journey Met a fabulous group of people, spoken out when prior I would not have, and learned a few things.

Latest discussion is on equipment we apparently don't own,... and is leased.

And the lease expires in a month. And we had a support agreement when issues arose - that we didn't know about.

Previous IT management dumped a load on the future IT management...

We picked up six inches of snow Friday night / Saturday morning. It's all but gone now,.. really was late yesterday.

Also wondering where everyone is at today.. nearly noon and all I have seen are crickets...

On site wondering what is going on with Ubiquiti APs. Devices had only been able to communicate with internet and other devices connected to the AP on the same network. Started working properly a few minutes ago, no rhyme or reason why the change. At least it's working now, and I was here when it started working.

Like some office staff - they saw the boss coming and got back to working like they should.. But that's a pain.

I haven't kept track of it of course,.. but it seems that the winds here have increased over the years. We have seen stronger winds more often - enough that instead of solar I have thought about a VAWT - not that the HOA would allow that any more than solar.

VAWT? Vertical Axis Wind Turbine; they are pretty neat in operation and build.

Man, 54F and rain sounds like nice. I just went to my salsa class and it is 96F and humid.

I realize it's a thing you get adjusted to. But with the seasons here (in Kentucky), I don't. We have had so many days with a swing - you can't figure out what to carry with you. One day it's 70 and sunny and in thirty-six hours it snowed...

at 96F with humidity... I can't breathe.. I'm just not adjusted to it.

What mobile site layout issues? I have no issues with the site on mobile.

I know for me, while on my phone the scrolling jumps... very very annoying.

I'm a contractor at the office, only one. We have a team of four, but a total IT of seven.

Today was the last day for the longest person on the IT team (seven years).

They posted his position to several job boards and I got notification this evening.

Keep in mind - I'm a contractor - brought on with the idea of six months to hire.... Six months was the end of December.

We are down one as they look for a replacement, one on a conference,.. and one just called out sick…

Deleting User Profiles on a remote computer using Powershell.. I really need to go back and add a profile list option…

By no means am I well versed in using Powershell, but I’ve managed to put a decent effort in solving some day to day tasks to a few scripts… likely a better way to accomplish what I have this far- I’m a realist - but it works and solves the tasks as is…

In a single script;
Bitlocker: check, disable, enable and push code to AD
Did/enable computer account, adds date and ticket when disabled
Connection test
Reboot with message.

Spot for TPM check- still sorting that.

Out small group ( three total) have taken a break from Borderlands 3 and have been running Star Wars: Battle Front 2

Spent nine hours in our dental department dealing with the Schlick X-ray sensors.

Seems some damn permissions issue arose with the plug-in and driver cause all kinds of grief..

But,.. I’ve gotten to taken about three dozen X-rays of my work phone, mouse and blood pressure cuff ( battery operated).

Of course they are only about a 1x1” image.. I now need to find lead clothes for the remainder of the year.

Also been looking over the James Webb Images - just amazing!
